We were a cash cow after all

In the couple of weeks since the speed limit change, I’ve not seen a single scamera van on a s/c. Proof that it had nothing to do with road safety, and all to do with milking hgv drivers

I was thinking the exact same thing the other day. Haven’t seen one in any of the usual hiding places since the limit changed.

Wonder if any truckers caught doing more than 40mph just before the change will appeal it on the grounds that the speed they were doing was clearly safe enough if they’ve decided to add 10mph to the limit.

may be they decided it would cost too much to pay some bod to sit all day with a reduced income or lets raise the speed limit and make a few people redundant

with the speed limits in mind the A4174 ring road normally has the van by the Downend big roundabout mainly the 2nd week of the month for catching tax dodgers.
redeployment to 20mph limits

I saw one on A15 between Caenby Corner and Scanpton on I think it was Monday. I’ve NEVER seen one on that stretch before, and I’ve been driving up and down it most days for 11 years.

Well, they weren’t enforcing it that aggressively before - I never saw one on the A1 which I used fairly regularly (nor any Traffic Officer vans), only the couple of fixed cameras.

Still at coltons jay seen a 57 reg one on clackets on wednesday dinner time looked very tidy for an older truck i must say

i miss the “Like” Button

Of course it’s not, it’s all about the money.

I drove straight down the mouth of one pointing up the A5 from the DIRFT roundabout up past the cafe on Thursday. it was well placed up under the hedge on the grass verge.

Saw one today in Yardley Hastings on the Northampton to Bedford road…about 150 yds beyond the FIXED CAMERA :unamused: :unamused:

The one on the A614 near Holme on Spalding Moor was out today.

Camera van on A11 at Wymondham today.

Not seen a single Gatso “live” in Oxfordshire for some time. Our yard’s in Woodstock and of the two cameras in the town, one was always active.

Blimey I think a 57 sounds a newish motor

I’ve said this before and I’m about to repeat it :unamused:

WHY? speed?? You all know this Government/Country’s/Police obsession with speeding so why do it?

The ONLY important or urgent loads are body parts, and they have little vans/cars with blue flashing lights on for that. No load is worth you working almost a day without pay + the 3 point bonus :unamused: (no prizes)

Same with mobile phones :open_mouth: :open_mouth: How long has this been law??

I don’t agree with a few laws and think I should be able to legally slaughter the next bell end that pulls in front of me before he’s cleared my cab :imp: The number of trailer back doors I’ve cleaned with my windscreen wash this week is unbelievable :unamused:

No fixed speed cameras in Northamptonshire for the last few years.

Safe or not it was illegal at the time so there is no chance of appeal
