We all knock Stobarts but

fleet number H4100

Kerbdog:
Is this actually real ? I hope it is as it would be a nice gesture from them, however, one of the pictures I saw of the door (the fleet number and name under it) looked like it had been photoshopped. Also Stobarts have taken down all pics from their own facebook page of it. It wouldn’t be without controversy if it is true as there will be the usual people with their own opinions of why it shouldn’t be on there. The people who have been discussing it being removed from Stobarts page say that they wanted to inform the parents of Lee before doing it which is a bit strange as if the pic is true then it’s already been done. Like I say, if it’s true then for me it’s a thumbs up, I’m just a bit sceptical about whether it is real at the mo. A search of the internet brings nothing up apart from people posting it on Twitter etc. which would be understandable if it’s been photoshopped. As we know, there are people who will use the internet to create a cafuffle. Time will tell.

It’s fake, Flickr photo shows the same truck in the Glass House in September 2014

I don’t believe this truck would sit in there for 6 or 7 months without earning it’s keep.

Tis real

Stobarts have always had a latest model tractor unit sat in the glass house, it’s part of the history of Eddie Stobart

Fair play to Stobarts

Although, how long before a mad Eddie spotter sacrifices their own child so they can have a truck named after them?

WACO… the one in the glasshouse 6 months ago is now on the road…i know the guy who drives it, his name is Maurice, mo for short. They put another new one in there…its the 2nd new shape volvo that theyve had on show.

As for that other guy…that is an unofficial Eddie Stobart facebook page. Search Stobart Group and you will find the correct one… the picture has disappeared. I defo think this could be fake now tbh.

they always have a truck or two in the glass house for a year

Well lets hope its true. If it is then i support it 100%

In what way was Lee Rigby a hero? The poor sod suffered a horrendous death at the hands of 2 mental fanatics and his family suffered horribly. The nation, quite rightly was outraged and mourned his death. But…a hero?? Surely a hero is somebody who does something courageous in the face of adversity, or sacrifices himself for the greater good or any other definitions. Lee Rigby was murdered in cold blood, and it was a terrible act of cowardice by his killers. He is a victim, not a hero.

What you mean willing to die for your country as a serving soldier isn’t enough for you mate?

I think you have made an error of judgement with your post.

Give it a rest pal,you know the score

I don’t agree with Stobarts always involving themselves in these tradegies as they did also with the April Jones incident, can’t help but feel it’s a bit of shameless promotion of the Stobarts brand coupled with the “gesture”.

Do you? In some cultures, suicide bombers are called heroes by the greater community which nurtured them. Do you think any soldier is a hero by definition? if so, why are they called soldiers and not heroes? Is a squaddie who gets drunk and kicks seven shades of you know what out of a student that gives him brain damage a hero? I think that you are blinded and fed by the tabloid newspaper agenda in this country…are either of us right or wrong?

It’s not fake; it’s still up on Stobart’s FB page with more comments than probably the rest of the page put together:

Some friends of mine want to get one named after Connor Sparrowhawk, a young man with a learning disability who was a big Stobart fan, who died in an NHS unit in Oxford due to staff negligence in July 2013 (he drowned in the bath during an epileptic fit), but the girls’ name only policy is thought to stand in the way – a shame, as a girl is much less likely to be interested in trucks, learning disability or no.

What you are wearing right now is not a good look.

An ex Grenadier Guard friend of mine is trying to get Stobart to name a few more trucks after some fallen colleagues, not sure whether he will get anywhere with that.
