Watch out for solo Merc tractor units

I know some knock about now looking for mobile phone use but they would appear to stepping it up a gear so to speak.

I prefer to drive safely rather than looking out for Merc “supercabs”.

I prefer to drive safely rather than looking out for Merc “supercabs”.

I had a driver earlier in the week flashing me for all he was worth coming the other way. I thought, probably a camera van up ahead. And would you believe it, there was. Parked up on a dual carriageway with a 60mph limit. Not sure how I was supposed to break that speed limit but I appreciated the gesture :grimacing:

Prefer to stick to the limits and not worry about who’s trying to catch me out up ahead.

Yeah I just stick to the limits, especially in 30’s and 40’s so people flashing me to warn of a kojak with a Kodak [emoji1] are wasting their bulb life.
My sat nav keeps pestering me to pay to renew my speed scamera subscription so I have to politely tell it to F Off every time I switch it on. Very irritating. If you don’t speed why do you need to know where they are!?!?!

Those big lumps of plastic on the side of the cab help out, you look at them and see a little lorry growing up, you think why? Has he forgotten his trailer? He has his son/ dad with him too

Love the positive spin put on it…dangerous driving. :unamused:
The Coffee and Mars bar Police strike again. :unamused:
Say wtf you like on this, what a waste of Police time, and ■■■■ resources.
At least the bill footed by the taxpayer will be well recouped and then some, with the revenue raised,… aka ‘‘The true agenda’’

Dangerous driving clampdown my hairy arse. :smiling_imp:

Talk of Police blowing money on odd vehicles. Check out the Norfolk Police Force who run a Porsche GT4 for car shows. Granted, they did not buy it. Looks cool though. I’d have thought if they wanted to connect with the yooof, they’d be better off with a barry’d up Citroen, ricer wonky body kit with Japanese stickers everywhere

By the way. Why they clamping down your hairy arse?

If all drivers did that then we would not have a need for any sort of speed enforcement

double post

I’d be very suspicious of a fleet spec supermarket lookalike catching me with ease on the motorway.
If they’d bought a lightly used Tang spec V8 their conviction rate would rise significantly as everyone would just assume it was another Paddy keeping it lit rather than the police.

Why they clamping down your hairy arse?

There’s more chance of them clamping down on my arse than them clamping down on what they should be…ie truck crime. :imp:
But me and you have been here before on this.

Does your halo light up in the dark?

Quick mirror checks every few seconds when peeling your spuds etc you’ll be fine.

So, you stick to the limits ?
Ok.
Come on then…humour me.
Picture this (A day in December, Debbie  ) …
Friday afternoon, on way home.
Been away all week, sick as a Blackpool donkey, but on a promise, or a planned night out with mates in the pub (or both)
Your choice is this.

‘A’…Stick to the limit very strictly resulting in a 5th night out in your luxury cab with all the gear… (or tin box depending on how you see it  ) 10 mins from home.
And being a100% straight sort of guy, you won’t be the type to get a lift home and claim a ‘night out’

Or

‘B’…Run in a bit faster where relatively safe to do so (not talking teararsing through 30 zones flat out btw) thus achieving getting home to do the business with the wife, before your session out with the lads…sorted :sunglasses:

If ‘A’ …you’re just too good to be true,.and are a Saint…end of, we are not worthy…

If ‘B’…you’re just like the rest of us, adhere but bend when it suits you.

Option C ?
I ain’t a saint. I give in to temptation sometimes. So I try to avoid temptation.
If I think I might do something a bit OTT to get home, I sometimes deliberately stay away. If I think I’ll be near home, I’ll have an extra coffee break. (Like right now). If I know I’m gonna be out I’ll then not be tempted to go too silly.
Admittedly it’s not a foolproof method, I’m quite foolish enough to break my own rules, but it often works. Depends how strong that promise is I guess!

Credit to the copper. I wouldn’t be as laid back and amused as him if someone was filming my “mistakes”.

If I ever made any.[emoji15]

I got passed by one of them a few weeks ago, I think I was on the M6 north. Looked to my right and saw PC Plonker staring in my cab. It was confirmed a few seconds later when the patrol car followed it up ahead.

You wont need to worry if your climbing a hill as a merc could catch a cold up hill

Did you miss the various references to the solo unit?
