I keep seeing all these trailers, mainly around the south side of the M25. Are they all heading for ferries and the tunnel ?. Is waste one of our main exports these days. Gregory seem to be one of the big players in it, where does it all go, can somebody give us the low down on what it’s all about.

It goes to china and they then put it in landfill…
i used to do alot of work going to the paper recyclers here in fife, and the amount of paper they used to process was unreal, though its not soo much anymore, alot of it just is piling up as i found out one day and went in then had to ask where they wanted it as the paper was stacked higher than my truck.
Do you mean the walking floors trls ■■
If so its cld be going to numerous sites in Kent.
Aylesford Newsprint
SCA
Kemsley Mill
Chatham.
I think Stobarts take alot to Belgium (?)
Yes waste is one, or should that be, was one, of our biggest exports. In containers going to China, but, they dont want it anymore, as alot of their plants have shut down due to the Global Downturn ■■!!
Yes, it’s the walking floor type trailers that i’m interested in. I see poles pulling them amongst others. They must be taking it into europe aren’t they ?. Why do they use walking floors particularly ?. What do they back load in them ?. We all know about shipping box loads of crap to China, not really interested in that.
i was probably one of them. as some said earlier a lot of it is waste paper going to aylesford some thing like 200 loads a day go in there, gregorys do a lot of paper out to gent in belguim, also there have been woodchips going out to power stations over the water, i know of one place that fill a ship every six weeks out to germany, that goes to a power station, slough power station runs on woodchip so you will see alot of walking floors going in there as well.if they are heading back south quite a few will be back loading finished reels of paper, and that can come from any of the dock tilbury, chatham ect.
prefer ejectors meself
Yes,Stobarts take a lot to Gent in Belgium.
There is a lot of woodchip going to holand we have had mainly dutch trucks with walking floors to take it and a few poles aswell.

No-ones answered you, so i’ll have a go.
A walking floor can be used as a bulker or a normal trl, therefore they cld back load anything, its a top trl.
I used to have one behind me when I worked out of Aylesford newsprint. Delivered reels of newsprint out, and came back with used newspapers in bulk for recycling back into newsprint, great job
