Near Scunthorpe just now, 2 lorries parked on the opposite side of the road from me but my side of the road clear, an artic coming towards me was signalling to move out and come round them. I’d already committed to go so I continued. I had my address in my hand to check the last bit so I didn’t have a free hand to wave or flash my lights. As I pass him I hear shouting from the window in a very aggressive tone something along the lines of “don’t F ing mention it then you F ing something or other”. Thought he was going to spin round at the roundabout at the roundabout and come and find me!
1/ he didn’t have to stop to let me go, he was already stopped
2/ he was coming out onto my side of the road rather than me going on to his
3/ whilst it’s polite to say thank you, and I normally do, it’s not the law!
Was his reaction a bit over the top would you say? For a professional driver?!
And the person who said nod my head…I’m not disputing the fact there was still a way to say thank you. I could have waved my address sheet for that matter! So what? I made a mistake sort of. My question is was the attitude worth it for that? I hope he feels better for it now rather than just rising above it and carrying on!

Hes coming onto your side of the road so he needs to give way to you and you’re not obliged to come to a stop to appease anyone coming the other way.
Take comfort in the fact that his attitude stinks and you ■■■■■■ him off!
The same thing often happens when passing parked vehicles.Muppets who can’t drive a car let alone when they’ve got a truck or bus licence. He needs to use the opposite side of the road to clear an obstruction.Someone doesn’t/can’t stop to allow him to go that’s the rules of the road. Why do they think they should be thanked for obeying the rules of the road.Oh wait they don’t know or give a zb about the rules of the road and he thinks you should have given way to him and if not then thanked him for waiting.

This is the reason why saying thank you wasn’t at the front of my mind whilst I was trying to find a place and check a road name

Look on the bright side. There’s a road here which is regularly blocked by a line of parked cars on the opposite side.I’ll happily give way to lots of traffic approaching in the opposite direction to help keep the road moving. Then when I eventually move off it’s often the case of getting sworn at by others approaching who think it’s my fault for having the nerve to move.Bus drivers being some of the worse.
Some days when I get home, I’m glad if the wife doesn’t speak. Getting worked up over being shouted at by someone you may never see again is pointless.
As for him following you then you really should seek medication before the zombies get you.

I’m not worked up! Far from it! I’m merely asking for opinion of whether it was an over the top reaction.
And I was only saying I thought he was going to follow me to show how aggressive he was over it.

The bloke clearly thinks that he’s perfect and has thanked every single driver that’s given way to him, so he’s got the right to be a ■■■■.
We all miss the odd thanks due to one reason or another, and that’s what stops me killing people!
