I didnt stop anyone. Just told the Driver what i found, leaving it to them and Security if Problem was solved before leaving. If not solved Time,Vehicle Reg,Trailer Number and Fault were recorded and handed in to Day Manager.
Well then
2 tryed to leave with Legs down to Earth. (One arrived lucky with 1 Inch free to Gate, the other made Markers of 5 Meter on the Ground)
3 were with Legs halfway down. ( Needed both Hand to wind rest up. One did)
3 tryed to leave with no DogClip on Fifth Wheel. 2 arrived without Clip on Fifth Wheel.
Many had DogClip not on the Slider, but there is a Screw in Place,so why is the Clip still there. (Most still had Clip in Place too.
3 Trailer and 1 Unit with Faulty Rear Light to exit
7 left with weak Tyre Pressure (Agency Driver) one turned around (Company Driver)
First Day were running 20 Vehicle with Red Wheel Nuts. Second Day too. Then i reported them ( Was OK the other Shifts)
I did not check
High Beam (as Lorry Driver dont use em anywhy)
Reversing Light (its hard for Driver reversing if he has his Rig not up to Date)
Trailer inside,if Loaded or empty
Tyre Wear
Units and Trailers in Safe condition. (Didnt find anything bad on Axles,Brakes or somewhere else around Frame of Unit and Trailers)
Some of the Drivers just careless, but 99% of them Agency Drivers, leaving with a Fault,or two.
Dog Clips on Shutter are Company Policy. (Each Night around 20 with missing them) I found the Clip remover on Xmas Eve.(Warehouse)
Weak Tyre seems not bothering anyone at all. Even if you close to getting them back to VMU will the Security wave them out, just to get the Director not in thems Neck, for slowing operation down.
Only Company i had the last 10 Year, running out with 100% safe Vehicles, was Royal Mail. Anyone catched with a Fault running out got phoned back. Warning by Head Manager was sure, and 2 Weeks seating at Home when catched a second Time. 1 Day re-Training if catched a third Time and dismissed if catched again.
