Seen a job advertised last month for a double man run from Stirling to Watford Gap, 5 nights a week. That’s almost a 700 mile round trip every night which must take at least 15hrs to do. I know its double manned, but its still a lot to do in one shift. How the hell anyone can be bothered doing that for a living is beyond me.
Better pack some night out gear if you come up here during daylight hours. The obvious main route is the M74 and it is completely ballsed up for the foreseeable future due to roadworks

Since you are a local to central Scotland the company I work for makes us use A706 over the Hyndford bridge then A73 to Abington to join the M74 which cuts out roadworks in parts . We run at 44t most days and manage a Traford Park , or Tadcaster on a 10hr driving day .

400 Miles today, Enfield to Barnsley, Rossington to Rugeley, Cannock to Barnsley, 9 hrs 23 mins, 13 hour day !
Pah, amateur! Bedford to Grantham then to Swindon then to Fareham and parked in Corby. 420.2 miles and 9h 43 min driving!
Howden to Portbury Wincanton and back, 410 miles, 8hrs 10 minutes driving including about 50 miles sitting in damned roadworks trundling along at 50MPH. You can easily do 480 miles in a 10hr on nights setting off around 6pm.

We call that the Forth Road which I hear is being closed for 2 weeks from this weekend. That is a banned route for us anyway

Deffo TIP at Carrington works. Left Falkirk CDC at 03.30 this morning & found the motorway closed at Denny dip due to an RTA. Sat for 2 hours & called back to depot, job aborted. Ended up thru at Scania in Renfrew to pick up some of the Xmas hire units.
