How many drops a day on average■■? iv been told expect anywhere up to 50

Who told you that lol no where near that… The average is around the 20 mark and they are all routed so they are quite close together ie you might have 2 opposite or 3 in the same road just depends on the route your on. I cover 2 routes one has 20-21 drops the other has 21-24 drops because some days ie the small shops might not have bread every day

My brother went for the interview and bloke said some days 25 drops other days 45-50 drops :open_mouth:

I work at a competitor, I’m on a 01:30 start, most of my drops are done. The big ones like Asda, Sainsburys and Tesco are all done in the warehouse. Drops for the likes of the Co-op and Spar I have to do myself on route. I luckily get about an hour and a half inbetween two drops so I have plenty of time for break and then make up. Tesco, Asda and some Co-ops will have to check the whole order. We just go through each basket ticking it off. Sainsbury’s and Spar just sign the order sheet and thats it.

Some places are just drop and go whilst others have to be signed off. The regulars at my place all drive around at a million miles an hour because they are paid salary. Us agency folk are paid by the hour so I trundle about doing 40. I had one drop who complained that I was an hour behind their usual driver. I just said to him that I didn’t break the speed limit getting here.

Oh and if you see another driver in another bread lorry, just give a flash and a wave. At the end of the day you are doing the same job just in a different uniform.

I hated the order picking, it’s soul destroying, then having to check for “10×200g toastie loaves…with added milk (or whatever)” when delivering it is plain torture. I wont count stock even now on flour as my attitude is I’ve delivered it, the customer can count it if they wish, I’ll be having a coffee in my cab thankyou.

Sorry to resurrect this, but I see they are advertising again at Wakefield. I’m seriously thinking of applying. I know it’s not that old a thread but any more upto date info?

It pays to get to know the milkman.

I doubt anything will have changed.

Early starts, plenty of drops, order picking, job & knock. But paid a good salary for your troubles. If you think you can put up with all that stuff and it’s local, i’d go for it. Always looked like a fairly decent place to work, drivers always happy in my experience.

.

Yeah I’ve heard the money is decent. It’s about 17miles away from me. I currently travel 11 miles so not much more. The problem is it means going on the m62 car park to and from.

if its early starts then that shouldnt be a problem. Get your round done quick and beat the rush hour home too.

That was my thinking m1cks just wanted something nearer than my current 11 mile but I suppose wanting to get back on trucks I need to make sacrifices

So, I have an interview for these on Tuesday. Anyone know what kind of thing to expect. The lady said it lasts around 40mins. Be good to get a bit of a heads up if anyone is in the know…cheers

I know loads about their work at Tuscany Park at Whitwood. Is that where you’ve applied? Pm me if you want to know some routes, information about Tuscany.
