Wannabe driver from Bulgaria needs an advice

I don’t say that there are no good companies in Bulgaria. I’ve heard of a few, that pay regularly and what’s promised without playing tricks. But the only way to get there is if somebody of the old driver dies :frowning: I don’t say what I like, because I don’t like it. I just say what it is.

You’re right, Bulgar Bulgar … it is like an ■■■■■■ comedy where these 4 are concerned. Though having spoken to them, I can understand why they want to get away from Bulgaria and get jobs in Germany, Holland or here. Baby Bulgaria told me he used to drive from Bulgaria to the UK and back every trip. He said he used to take home about €600 a month … when he GOT paid , that is!

dear Bulgar.i can said you.dont cross finger, and don t dream about "cream "position first.
1.if you wont come to England find yobs, you need first come to here.
2.if you have big expirience -it is good, but not one agency will be listening what you do in Bulgaria.
3.first -if you wont become to drivers here you need exchange you Europian licence to full UK driving licence.it is cost about 60 pound +.but how many i know if you wont exchange licence you need sent as well payslip or p 60.,confirm who you was working here at least 6 or 12 month.if not you can just registered you licence.but i think agency will be not happy.because it is not full UK licence, basicly company inchurance not allow drive with Eu licence.
4.if you was driving 250000 km -it is not to many .#
what i can said to you.if you wont come to here and be to drivers.fist you come to here-and try found some JOBS IN FOOD PRODUCTION FACTORY,OR WAREHOUSE OPERATIVES.EARN SAME MONEY,MAKE REGISTRATION NATIONAL INCHURANCE NUMBER.,AFTER 6 MONTH EXCHANGE LICENCE.AND I THINK EARLY OR LATER YOU FOUND SAME DRIVING JOBS.
dont cross fingers first.i see to many people from Eu.who was long time international drivers.,know every road in Eu.come here cross fingers ,i good drivers,go to couple agency ,whey answer sorry… and this person… but some drivers come to here, was working for cleaners, food factory, taked time, make all dokument and after do same driving jobs.TAKED TIME ,AND DONT DREAM ABOUT ALL FROM FIRST DAY.TRY,TRY,TRY,.THINK AHEAD

Bulgar, Bulgar!:
I meant the McLaren F1 sports car :sunglasses: cockpit. I don’t know if there are trucks wit steering wheel in the middle, are there?

yes there are a bloke called Colani built 2 or 3 in Germany in the 80´s you ca n find photo´s if you google the name

Lee G:
Sorry dave, i wont call the bear a lazy git again!

why not he will never change not at his age anyway :unamused:

as for Bulgarians we had 2 and to be honest I could not get rid of them fast enough, had a couple of Poles some were ok others not, basically I do not give a monkeys about nationality so long as they do the job, even had a couple of Brits once and they were a right waste of space.

as for Bears experience he is probably one of the few on these forums with more knowledge and experience then myself

I just saw these Colani trucks. Thanx, Vascoingles for the info. It’s worth seing  Only Austin Powers behind the steering wheel can make it look more…I can’t find the right word.

Andrejs, thank you for the tip. Are you a Lithanian? Ты говоришь по-русски? I still can’t decide what to do, because of the restrictions for BG’s and Romanians. Picking berries is not my favourite sport. Don’t get me wrong, I can do it, I have a peach garden and an apple garden and a cherry garden and I care about them myself. I am married and we have a 2 years old daughter, so being away from home for six months, picking berries for pennies is not an option for us. I’m still thinking. Waiting some news from Germany and Spain.

r slicker:
Well i trust my guy so you can say what you like but i see the wage slips each month and my guy is based here BG-2500 Kyustendil for your info about 400kms from you.

Are you talking about some green MB Actros trucks, pulling “Davis Turner” trailers?

Nope. pulling mine and other companies trailers. one being a rather large Austrian concern. i have 15 trucks on contract from them. and have the same drivers on 4 weeks on 1 week off with a fill in driver in between. eg truck going home is replaced in italy with a fresh truck for 1 round trip italy-uk italy. then the original truck takes back over. maintainance etc is first class. never had a vosa problem or bag in germany with them. the boss speaks great english and so do the drivers. and i know what they earn as i do see all the drivers over a course of a year. 1 was in my office monday handing in his cmr’s before heading to dover to ship out.

i will give you a clue. they dont own any trailers at all. the trucks i have are scanias and mercedes witha few man’s thrown in.

the company pulling for dt etc is parme trans. estonians.

Well, I’m happy there are companies like this in Bulgaria, who have found the right way. Good luck to you and your BG partners!
The green MB’s used to be property of a BG mob boss, who got assassinated…

IF YOU DON T WONT PICK berrys or…better don t go to England.i know, who to many bulgarian layze people.you said who small money if work in factory first.not correct.some people from food factrory have not bad money.AND DONT DREAM AND THINK WHO IF YOU GET DRIVING JOB,YOU WILL BE WORK 5-6 DAY EVERY WEEK.

I’m not affraid of working, and there is no job to be ashamed of. The problem is that I’d like to move along with my wife and kid. Or at least I don’t want to leave them for a long time period. That’s why I’m doing some research now. Food factory is a good idea, thank you Andrejs. BG and RO citizens are allowed to work in a food factory. I’ll check this out!

but if you go to England alone.it is better for you .you first 3-6 month can rent just room.more cheap.first copule month any way not easy

Andrejs:
3.first -if you wont become to drivers here you need exchange you Europian licence to full UK driving licence.

Is this necessary to change European drivers licence to full UK driving licence, when UK is in EU?

As I said in an earlier reply:

djw:
If you don’t want to exchange your Bulgarian [or other EU] licence for a UK one, you must register your Bulgarian licence with the British Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency for any LGV (C1, C1E, C, CE) and PCV (D1, D1E, D, DE) categories to be valid. More details can be found here.

No problem - welcome to TruckNet UK.

2-3 months is OK. Ive got some friends in the UK, I can stay where they are in the beginning. But I’m still thinking.

I’m now working for a French company, but I don’t like Frenchies. They understand English, but don’t like speaking it. I don’t speak French and don’t want to learn it, but when I start swearing in Bulgarian, they suddenly become more polite. :grimacing:

Our politicians are all traitors You think ours are any different?. The Communist Party has evolved in many different parties All political parties are same ■■■■ different wrapper!. As a matter of fact there is no choice for us Bulgarians None of us peasants have any choice, the thieves at the top of the pile have settled themselves into a nice position. Honest men are not allowed in politics They haven’t been for years, not since they started getting paid and discovered they could vote themselves ever more money from the public coffers. All of our politicians are communists, or ancestors of communists, so it doesn’t matter who do you vote for Again same ■■■■ different wrapper, the latest set of thieving scum can’t believe their luck the ■■■■ they get away with . Soon there will be nothing left to steel. After a few years 1 working man will support 4 or 5 retired. I would like to observe this situation from a safe distance Well sorry to disappoint but we are heading down the same road, I can’t think of anywhere that is a “safe distance” . :sunglasses:

I wish you luck in your quest, however the grass isn’t always greener

Well, your chair is at a safe distance for example.
I’m on vacation in my home town for three weeks and food is now more expensive than in France. As a matter of fact the only things cheaper are tobacco and liqueur, so…cheers, cough, cough! My brother worked the last five months for 200E/month and that’s a normal salary in my home town. My mother’s pension is 120E, she was a nurse the last 35 years and today is her 62-d birthday and she is still working. Do you need a calculator? Maybe Bear Grylls should come here and learn some very important things about Ultimate Survival. Sad but true!

I skied in Bulgaria about 25 years ago.I found the people to be well educated but they were all up to something. There was nothing that they could nt sell. The currency at that time was the Lev.The waiters and lift operators were all into money changing. The people who would speak about things said that it would take 25 years to buy a car (Lada).
