I know there’s a few walking floor drivers on here ,
Just wondered if any of you had to carry plasterboard that’s been sat outside , we (I
) have to take ours for disposal and struggle to unload , the main reasons in my mind are its been sat outside in the wettest winter for ages and secondly it’s no longer plasterboard but more like plaster , damp dust
( as its been tracked over with a 360 machine sat on the pile to load ) .
The hydraulics struggle to push the 'planks ’ back under the load , as its quite claggy and almost clay like .
I’ve taken dry stuff many times before without problem , and a wet load but that was only about 20 tonnes not a full , 27 tonne load .
I’d appreciate any opinions or experiences
I have mentioned it a few times that it should be kept dry , but it’s fallen on deaf ears so far .
Cheers Mike
Try putting a couple of mats if no mats carpet at the headboard over lapping and slightly up wall shud pull it out. And ask loader to load a foot or two from headboard I found that best on China clay
Thanks Chester , yes I can see that working , never thought about a mat or carpet .
Only downside is having to retrieve it after unloading I suppose.
It’s our own waste and tbh it’s ridiculous that’s it’s sat outside soaking up water when we have to pay by the tonne for disposal/ recycling
Cheers Mike
it can be a real pain when tipping wet board, try dropping the air out of the trailer and lifting your unit right up, if that is possible it might help.

Not normally too bad getting it back it’s the last thing out lol unless tipping over an edge lol. if you over lap up the wall a few inches saves a fair bit of sweeping out of what’s left at the sides
I used to use an old 2 ton bag cut up to make a mat last a good while.Put it up the side of trailer and up the headboard a few inches and it should come out no bother.I used to always dump the air from trailer and raise the unit to max height and all was ok.
