You can either come through Ross off the A40 Gloucester Road, which will involve a tight left turn in the town centre (at the junction between the B4260 and the B4324 on this map … maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source … 53637&z=13 ), or you can go further down the A40 towards Newport to the Symonds Yat turning and come to Walford Timber from the other side, via Kerne Bridge. What time will you be going through Ross? I’ve seen artics turning in town before but usually early in the morning when there’s no one about.

All going well should be down at back o 9 tonight, do you think I’d get parked outside there yard or better going in morning…

Back in my distant memory I remember the entrance on a main road and down a slope into the yard but I don’t think you’d be able to park outside.
Best to find a layby close to be safe shag.

If you decide to chance going into the centre of Ross & turning left at the Market House (you’ll recognise it), you will have to anticipate the turn by getting yourself well over to the right-hand side in order to prevent the trailer catching the building on the left.
There is a better way through, but, as this is the weekend, cars will be parked everywhere, making it even more of a gamble.
It’s quite a bit further, but I would recommend the earlier suggestion to come in from the Kerne Bridge direction.

So far as I remember there’s a fairly big gateway you could probably park in. Otherwise, you can park up on the industrial estate in Ross, outside Travis Perkins is usually the best bet. I might be going out that way in a bit, if I get a chance I’ll go past Walford Timber and have a look.

Every way to Walford Timber you will encounter a weight limit.
Your best bet coming from the M50 is to take the first left on the roundabout at the end of the M50, then take the first left on the next roundabout, follow that road and turn right at the next roundabout (B4260) it has a weight limit sign ignore it, take your first left Alton road, stay on that until you come to a T-junction, turn left, follow the road until you come to a mini roundabout then go straight over, follow that road u will go roud a sharp right and eventually a sharp left about 600yards after the sharp left u will see Walford on your right.
There is nowhere to park outside as its on a main road, they open at 8am but you can get thru the gate about 7.30am, u might find only one of the 2 gates are open, just jump out and open the other and drive in, just head left and down the slope and wait there until the forkies turn up.

Alton Road gets very narrow past the industrial estate … just saying.

Ay it is but a good driver should get through no problem.

That was the gist of my saying that, on a weekend, there may be too many cars parked.
Of course, in my day he could have come straight up through the town from Oveross.

Past my house! Bloody lorry drivers, disturbing my Sunday … etc. etc.

Thanks for replies folks ended up coming from south end and over Kerne bridge…
Thanks again…
