just a heads up that last week at around 2am the police were taking pictures of parked vehicles (all trucks) on both sides of kenmore road near too coca cola gate 1 and morrison’s gate 3 due to complaints being made about it reducing the road to a single narrow lane on a bend.
the copper told me that he wouldn’t be surprised if the council were to double yellow one side because of it

correct
Tricky one this! As someone who regularly has to run the gauntlet through there to deliver to Morissons frozen site the parked vehicles can be a PITA, but it’s important not to lose sight of the fact that this is an industrial estate so therefore there’s always going to be large vehicles parked for whatever reason. IMO it only becomes dangerous when the locals use it as a rat run and come through at or above the speed limit (in balance, some trucks pass through like they’re taking part in the Pris Dakar rally too).
It boils down to that old chestnut of suitable parking really, which is a whole new topic which I think may have been mentioned once or twice here!
If you are waiting three hours to tip at Morrisons you have to park somewhere.

There is/was the ambient holding yard for Morrisons further down the road to park.
However the coke Stobrats used to use it to turn around after they missed the coke turn

it is already a rat run. dunno what will happen if they double yellow it as it parks a lot of trucks in a night time in an area that has next too no truck parking facilities

think they stopped using gate 5 now
Another case of poor planning, straight off motorway and no parking facilities between it and the industrial area. It’s just as bad trying to turn round on it.

it would be a prime location for truckstop with a guaranteed customer base
Typical, we want the goods but we don’t want the lorries.
It’s a similar story up and down the country, these RDC’s are going to have to be more flexible when it comes to delivery times, you get a lot of goods that don’t get collected until late in the afternoon or early evening, drivers have little choice but to run with it and try and get parked outside or near to the delivery address for booking time the next day, These RDC’s should be required to provide parking for trucks
