, well spotted moaster , if only !!
Absolute riches aboundā¦
This months wages , 134 hrs , Iād be aiming for more if op as thatās e.midlands , tramping should be a fair bit more , Iāve earned more but too old / knackered / unhealthy to be chasing the ££££££& these days , it does me
Really? Or is that with ot, bonus etc? Thatās only 33hrs a week so Ā£36ph
, must be nights too.
Actually I heard Sainsburyās are now on Ā£60k on nights
Agency pay.
Usually the USA mileage rate is significant-to-astronomical compared to what our Owner Operators get (although in recent years itās been stagnant). Thereās also a LOT more work and scope to do local or Over The Road (Tramping). Their DOT weigh-bridges are like mini-Vosa Way-Stations and take no-prisoners (usually) if your axles are over etc.
Sorry paddy ,234 hrs ![]()

, average about 60 ish pw
No tanker , Iām full time for xpo now , but still on old contract , havenāt changed contract since being tuped over to them
Itās with o/t paddy I believe , but to be honest I canāt make sense of xpo pay slips , they donāt put hours at this rate or that rate , itās just monthly pay & o/t
Iāve no idea what employer contribution is .
There is some night pay in that paddy , if I start 1/2 am I get to 6 am at night rate , same if I go after 6 pm I get night rate , but officially Iām a day shift driver , bonuses no , though as Iāve said above Iām not aware of what employer contributions are
Only thing I can think employer could pay contribute towards is the pension , so Iām guessing that what it is .
If you feel like that mate do what I did and tell them youāre cutting backā¦..you are still doing 60+ hours.
Not for the reasons that you point out that I cut back either btw, itās just that I saw sense,⦠and everything I own is paid for, and kids all grown up (allegedlly
) so I thought sod it, enoughās enough.
I donāt know your circumstances, but will 3 or so days not do ya?ā¦.plus firms canāt get drivers like they used to so they are willing to accommodate you nowadays, Iāve a couple of mates who have done similar cut backs at other firms
As you maybe know Iām down to anywhere between 40/45 ish hours on a 3 and a half to 4 days, then 3 days offā¦ā¦..still tramping, could not be arsed to do days or nightsā¦..so still got the n.out subs for ābeer moneyā as a bonus.
And Iām cutting back even more next year, one week off in 4ā¦.kinda āsemi retiredā if ya like, but still doing a job Iām ok with so far, and all done at a reasonable pace that wonāt kill meā¦..hopefully.![]()
Weāve had this conversation before I think mate, but Iāve known many drivers in my time in the job who were constantly chasing money, maxing out, going like ā ā ā ā whilst not eating and sleeping properly, then they retire and are dead within 6 months.![]()
The job is sh mate and not worth burning yourself out for, and especially if you are doing it under the conditions (health etc) as you say you are.
Take a step backā¦.![]()
i know your not asking⦠but just incase you are intrested its what the employer contributes to your pension and or national insurance
