Wages, quite a surprise!

war1974:
you could not have picked a worse time to start agency driving now they charge for carrier bags.

We’ve been getting charged up here for a couple of years now, similar to what they did with the poll tax! lol

Do people call up some men in white coats when you laugh out loud at the end of every sentence ?

He just chuckles and smiles
and laughs like a madman
Ladies and gentlemen,

Some guys prefer long haul. Personally doing short little hops would do my head in.

I used to think the very same a few years back.
Nowadays, whilst tootling around doing semi local work, listening to all the traffic hold ups on the radio,it reminds me why i would never go back to uk distance work.Euro maybe but even that does"nt sound appealing anymore.

Not for minimum wage and a WHOPPING £20 per night to sleep in your tin.

Right, my first ever agency shift is complete. I started at 0800hrs & did one run/drop down in the Scottish Borders & back in the yard at 1420hrs. The gaffer says ‘that’s it for today, see you in the morning’

Hmmmm…taking off my half hour break, that only gives me 6 hours! Phones the agency & they tell me it’s a minimum of 8 paid hours per day, regardless. So I’m quids in…why didn’t I get into this agency lark years ago?? lol :sunglasses:

Who are you going to be working for in January?

ASDA, read my first post! I’m doing ONE WEEKS agency work, starting full time with ASDA next monday. Maybe reading thru the full thread would give you a better idea about what to post next time. :unamused:

You’re an agency driver. Which means; AS AN WHEN REQUIRED. Don’t count on being there in January, or even next week.

As said some guys prefer tramping. Love the fact you load up and gone for couple days before even having to speak to dispatch or if lucky you get ya reload before leaving and don’t have to speak to the office all week. Set ya cruise feet up radio on coffee in hand
