Did there used to be a transport cafe very near which had beds, I remember staying there a few times when I tipped at Haverhill from BP.

The Comfort cafe is still there,but has tried to go a little " up market " catering for cars only.
It was a good cafe when it was a proper transport cafe

That’s the one I was thinking of, there was a narrow lane by the cafe which led down to a pub but it was a fair walk and a bit dodgy staggering back in the dark. It must have been about 1982 last time I stayed there, the beds were clean enough and the grub eatable.
