Vosges area of France,near Epinal

With a weekly rest,i was impressed by the beauty of the rivers, brookes, streams, and forests of the area, with a backdrop of the Autumn leaves changing, and gorges, the locals were immacutaly dressed, especialy the over 50`s age group, the women were dressed well, going out for dinner and meeting their friends.
At a small town,i had Bain de Saint Jaques,(Bath of St.Jack.),a broth with seafood and herbs, delicous, succulent prawns, and that was the starter.
The point here is,i got away from the dual carriegeway, and not sit in the cab for 45 hours.

It would be illegal to stay in the cab anyway. For a 45 hour weekly rest you need to book into a hotel as you cannot take a full weekly rest in the cab.

That’s news to me ?.

Ex Haulier:
That’s news to me ?.

It’s in the regulations and has been since April 2007.

That’s news to me ?.

And me

We did have a thread on it not long ago, you cannot do that within the letter of the legislation :stuck_out_tongue:

With curtains shut, how would any authority prove a driver was away from his/her cab on a 45 weekly rest, what about our cousins the “Tilyban” drivers, they have no money, hence cooking from their trailer boxes, but they are the first to offer you a full meal of whatever they are cooking up,in all my years of driving,an English driver has never offered me anything.
My boss would not pay a hotel for a weekly rest, and if anything was stolen from the truck,it would be,“Where were you?”,even though the GIT insurance would cover the loss.

To the bit in red, the answer is, “I was in the bar, where did you think I’d be?”

It’s a very picturesque area, especially at this time of year when the leaves are turning.
