April 1st?
I feel like Dr Who, Iam working to an agenda way before ahead of you lot! How’s that work?
How about for once accepting you were a bit too quick for yourself…

If I was to reply to your post in two months time then I can’t possibly be wrong can I.
Bringing this thread back on topic
I’ve been pulled 3 times, all whilst doing agency work.
I’ve seen the attitude test mentioned a few times.
Somehow. I must have past it.
If your a professional driver what have you got to be Worried about?

He didn’t say wrong, he said quick. Which you were.

It would be unlike you to resurrect an old thread wouldn’t it!

Some folks do other things other then sit on the internet each and every day!
If I’ve replied to a question and somebody asks me for further information on said subject, it may be a couple of weeks before I can be bothered to log onto a lorry drivers forum to see if somebody is awaiting a reply from me for clarification on subject matter. Belive it or not they are better things out there in this big wide world which I get involved in. TNUK is very low on my agenda. So for people who don’t really do that much in this world (other than police the internet ) it may appear I resurrect an old threads, but for me Iam doing no more than usually answering a question.
When I was looking to launch a ‘Think Bike’ campaign, I approached my colleagues at VOSA and asked about Turners and was told that they are ‘green’ and we wouldn’t consider pulling them unless there was an obvious defect. I’m not saying they don’t never pull operators who are ‘green’ but would pull amber or red operators first.
Unfortunately, along with the police, a few bad apples will usually alter ones opinion of them.
As far as I’m concerned they can stick the attitude test where the sun don’t shine and they get no further respect from me.
Hi there
Never been stopped myself, but saw the VOSA car pull a Nolans truck recently.
VOSA were parked up at Pont Abrahams services, as I joined the M4 they went past and neatly moved in front of the Nolans truck, flashy lights and all that.
I was long gone so didn’t see where they were taken.

It’s funny you should mention ‘think bike’, some of our trailers are wrapped in think bike livery.
has anyone noticed they do not come out in rubbish weather, probably sitting in their nice warm offices eating doughnuts and drinking tea [but then who can blame them]if its horrible out
I see all these posts about VOSA, how has it changed so much in 14 years ? I often come over to the UK and driving around have yet to see any VOSA check points or scales open. When I lived and worked there I got pulled by MOT (the older version) twice between 1975 and 2000. Try driving over here, in the space of 350 miles from NYC to St Albans VT for instance I pass 6 DOT check points or scales, heading south in’t the same story and we can be pulled in 3 or 4 times in one day by different state officers. I find it far worse here than I ever did back there.
Had a pull about 10 years ago. I was coming down the A77 to Kilmarnock, when I was flagged down by a copper standing by his motobike.
He asked me if I knew where the test centre was in Kilmarnock.Told him " no I am from Bradford." .He gives me a map and tells me to go straight there.I said it seemed a bit unusual, and what was to stop a driver just carrying on his journey?
He said “nothing at all,but put it this way,if you’re not there in 20 mins.,I’ll issue a warrant for your arrest !!” No sense of humour north of the border !!
has anyone else been left to their own devices to go to the test centre?
Regards John.

I don’t bow and scrape to VOSA inspectors, just show them the same respect that I expect myself. Politeness doesn’t cost anything, and they are only doing a job. Think how bad working conditions would be if they didn’t exist.
Pulled once exiting Tamar Bridge Toll Booth A38 Eastbound , taken into Agaton Fort , left 2 hours later £70 lighter in pocket for ONE hours offence.
New Lad, Turners agreed to have 4 trailers wrapped in think Bike- East Anglian Air Ambulance livery. The HA paid for six months. I think next month is the third, maybe fourth year. Best £8k HA ever spent and loads of free advertising for EAAA

They used to do! Back in 2001 I was pulled onto the hard shoulder of the M1 between J 37/36 southbound in a snowstorm! The copper sat nice and warm in my cab chatting about his Christmas break while the inspector went underneath on a crawling board with traffic whizzing past, what I couldn’t understand was that at Junction 36 there is a checkpoint he could have used which must have been a safer option? Anyway all was well, luckily I had cleaned the salt from my rear lights at Barnsley! Apparently they were targeting tippers that day, just my luck, they pulled a bulk artic in about a mile further on.
Pete.
