Vosa Presence!!!

it seems now you can throw the maggie on for as long as you like and for as long as you want as long as plates aint irish or polish your chances of a tug are about as likely as tony blair on war crimes charges.

yep i am to on first name terms with a few of the vostapos but i am green light so god knows why,

Good to see political correctness on here… Great picture!!

I was chatting to an old mate of mine last week and he said they are always in Stafford now, as well as in various, more random places. While I am all for safety, I see little gain in being so forceful. It all costs lots of loot to keep them on the roads. That money could be better spent elsewhere. If they want to catch people out then more random inspections in the operating centres would make more sense.

They’re bloody everywhere, they queue up under that bridge at Leatherhead looking for trucks to pull over, although I believe they target those which set off the WIMS at Clacket Lane.

Always at Cullompton services Northbound last 3 weeks 0900!

I have seen them in Swindon at about midnight looking like they were just opening for a session

Yep - got me on Thursday at Sampford Peverell! - It’s right they really seem to have ramped it up this week.

Pulled twice this week once at the above place and once on Monday PM on A68 just prior to Jedburgh. And yes your right about the North of the border/South attitudes.

The Scottish one, you would think I had murdered a small child just seconds prior to being flagged in, the one at Cullompton, couldnt apologize enough for the 1 1/2 wait to get on the weighbridge - which was a pain but hey what can I do??

Just so you know - the truck I drive is tidy, clean, mechanically sound and legal, GB plated, OCRS Green light, and hand on heart tacho’s are extremely clean as never pushed and the jobs a doddle. Yet still the attitude?? Sometimes they are their own worst enemy.

‘… supermarket … drivers aren’t allowed to secure loads …’

Not true with my lot, nor for another out of Swan Valley.

However, I was mightily upset with the ‘every little helps’ circus when I did them out of Kiln Farm and they wouldn’t let me see in the back. I once had a big bulge appear in the curtain from a toppled cage appearing whilst en-route (NB. For those who like accountability, I recall that it was a run from MK to Evesham on a day when England played Denmark during some futile footy competition, approx 2002). I rang in for permission to open the back, etc to be told ’ …carry on and drive carefully…’ I rated that as abuse & my view of them slumped. I don’t use them to shop apart from ripping them off on loss-leaders or it’s 03.00 hrs & I’m gagging for something on my way home. Stuff their Clubcard too.

So, Mr VOSA, if you’re on a crusade (and I’m pleased if you are), while limeyphil’s suggestion aint generic he may have a point with the red, white & blue rabble if their hitherto policy remains unchanged.

Someone’s got to park strategically parked to pick up all the truckers debris :grimacing:
