I know a good few DVSA officers both traffic and vehicle and although they chat about enforcement they donât give details that would allow identification - just general details.

I used itâs down to their own professionalism
Not allways the case, what they are supposed to limit discussions too, and what they actually say are often 2 different things. I was parked at Beacon hill(A14 gate 51) one evening a couple of years ago, the VOSA were using the parking area to do checks, I got talking to a couple of the VOSA, they were telling me about who theyâd had through that day, and pointed out a couple of motors with the dreaded green snakes around the wheels parked and gave me a run down verbatim about what both were there for. Enlightening I can assure you
Any way, the latest RDC (or in this case Felixstowe THA) bs is the vosa driving up and down the Quay and through the THA to enquire with drivers as to whether they are currently on break, and if you are to then relieve you of some of your hard earned wage
It seems that Tacho Data can be downloaded externally from your ABS lead apparently , so they dont need bluetooth.
All these multi-pin sockets stream data direct from the physical hard drive and ECU chip storage capacitor.
Well thats what i heard in an RDC today

The VOSA jumping on the catwalk at 55mph is something Iâd love to see â â â â just realised, as soon as they unplug the ABS lead at 55mph you would then be running without trailer ABS which I believe is a naughty

Spend 10 minutes on Twitter and youâll see who they nick and what for. A lot of coppers and DVSA are on there.
wouldnât it be nice if you could do vosa [or dvsa] for trespass for driving uninvited through a haulage companys yard, actually take it to court and if you win and they donât pay then you could send the bailiffs in to recoup your costs, can you imagine one of the team from canât pay weâll take it away visiting their head office, that would be a sight to see and a lot of drivers would love it,dvsa have a real attitude problem so I would love to see the tables turned

You must be unlucky, Iâve met a few over the years in their professional capacity and theyâve always been polite and friendly, theyâve even let me off with the odd dodgy card.

Iâve actually had a â â â â good laugh with a few whilst being banged to rights

Fella, reading your nonsensical and continual moaning about absolutely everything on here tells me that it ainât DVSA who you should be looking at if you want to find an âattitude problemâ.
The glass is allowed to be half full at least occasionally.

Well said, some guys donât help themselves
Over the years I have come across many individuals with attitude problems, they exist in all walks of life. Perhaps those that criticise other peoples behaviour should take a closer look at their own. None of us are perfect and we sometimes have off days.
I have witnessed drivers mouthing off at RDC staff, if youâre late or early and you want an easy passage then you have to grovel, it may go against your principles but it oils the wheels and thatâs what counts.

Thatâs a fair point, but you meet these drivers whoâve been around all the local firms, and they tell what a bunch of â â â â â â â â each firm is and why he told them to shove their jobs, and gradually as your eyes are losing the will to stay open you start to recognise a pattern, and then you get to thinking, 1 week 1 month or 1 year I wonder how long before this firm are the â â â â â â â â

Then they complain that they cant get a job, especially if their previous employers chat to their future ones, and Iâm sure they do.

This is one of the things that makes me smile. There are many posts on here from drivers that are highly disparaging towards site security guards (âlittle Hitlersâ appears to be the most popular phrase from the knuckledragger element), but having seen how disrespectfully quite a number of drivers do actually speak to them face to face, I have no difficulty understanding why some security bods are unhelpful. Who can blame them?
If I was getting sworn at/shouted at/otherwise treated like â â â â by lorry drivers every day I went to work, I would probably hold the profession in general in very low regard and not be inclined to do anything to help any of them. Sadly, as ever, it comes back to the idiots spoiling it for everyone else. I always found that if you were polite to a security guard they would generally reciprocate, but I can understand it if they are not. Most of them are normal blokes who just want as easy a life as possible.

end of the day you are entitled to your opinion as I am,and as far as I am aware I donât recall moaning about absolutely everything on here,i have actually laughed and enjoyed some of the posts on here from different drivers,as regards attitude your going to tell me you are perfect, you have never given someone attitude in your time or received it.
