Vosa ireland???

Who is the irish equivilant of vosa in ireland. did my test there but have never driven a lorry for a company there and always wondered who it was because i just look at vosa website for all the laws etc… thanks

If you mean in the Republic the Department of transport covers everything as far as I’m aware. Although there has been a new road safety authority created but I’m not sure of the duties. Licence applications are done at your local tax office and the main DVLA equivalent is in Ballina Mayo and the department of transports Road Haulage division is in the Park West industrial estate Dublin

The one and only time I ever got stopped in, or even saw, a control in Ireland, the woman doing the checking of my discs etc showed me an ID card saying she was from the Department of Transport.

I persume this is a wind up, traffic enforcement in Ireland, tacho’s mean very little, once got stopped by dept. with tacho calibration 1 year out of date, told me to go on but get it sorted, standard practice to head to boats here and trow away tachos. everyone seems to pick up truck at boat. Drive to your heatrs content here.

Ah thought it was D.O.T but ave never ever seen one of there vehicles… was also told by my instructor if ur over ur hours they jst take the keys away from u and send u home.
