stopped today by vosa , chappy was under trailer for some time, when he came out said the brake relaease valve bracket was broke and valve was hanging by the pipes, if i tied it up he would release prohibition to get back be replaced and have to have full mot, so gets under to tie it up ,(there only a small cast aluminium valve with 3 pipes on) had a look ,very clean break in the casting! I know they usually carrode where the nuts are and the alloy turns powderish, but this was a clean break across the bracket , couldent find nothing else wrong s think he deliberatley broke it to get a result, so next time a vosa man is under your trailer KEEP YOUR EYES ON HIM
If it looked a bit corroded he’s well within his rights to give it a shake to make sure it is secure. You can’t snap them by hand unless they’re ready for going.
Thing is they know as well as anyone where they can look to find something wrong. Sounds like a quick release valve that broke, these things do happen.

Udate , in the garage mechanic took off offending part, about a third of the bracket, was cracked but the other two thirds were clean break, seems its a favourite part to go, (especially when pushed with the stale of his little toffee hammer) used to have alittle respect for the vosa lads when stopped before but now its us or them! oh well full trailer test now so more money in the coffers of the vosa tossers

They are just after money, money,money and more money, As most no i dont have the time of day for them what so ever ok some i guess are decent guys and just doing a job, But they pg 9 you and try getting a test date etc its a total farse they really need to ge there act in order
And they wonder why guys flag out ey, total bunch of “sounds like” merchant bankers!!!
what makes me lafffffff with em is they give u a pg9 and let you go on your way IE for a loose wheel nut and give you 5 days before it comes into force mmmmmh so you can have 5 days to decided to tighten the nut up or a iffy tyre then a full mot the system is a total farce delayed pg either its dangerous or it isnt any way hooook it,
