Are we professionals or not? A professional shouldn’t be concerned in any way shape or form about having things checked. However, those who think they are professionals are concerned for some reason :confused: :confused: Why is this?

I’m a professional driver and take pride in my work. I abide by ALL traffic laws (whether I agree with them or not) and always conduct myself in an appropriate manner. I’m not bothered if I get stopped at all, even dvsa have a job to do, just like us.

I get colleagues ringing me to avoid certain areas and I always thank them but still crack on. If they pull me they do, I’m 100% legal!!

I run legal too and abide by the laws of the road.

My car is legal, taxed, MOT’d, insured etc but it doesn’t mean I want plod sniffing around it. I dont need one of them lot who’s got out of the wrong side of bed to vent his frustrations on me, so if I have a choice I’ll avoid them for that reason alone.

Am I right in saying that DVSA or VOSA or what ever they’re called these days are self funded?
If so, then I think people should be concerned about there whereabouts cos no matter how squeaky clean you are, they need an income to keep going unlike state funded services such as the police, fire brigade etc.
I’ve yet to be pulled but if / when I do I’ll be rather nervous knowing the fact that they’re self funded.
I hope someone will now put me right by saying I’m totally wrong.

DVSA DO NOT GET MONEY FROM FINES! They are Self Funding through “FEES”, like O-Licence, MOT/ATF Fees and all the other “Fees” they charge

All the “Fines” go to the treasury, just like speeding fines.
