Vosa and tractors

the police could and should deal with it , as they also could deal with the dustcarts the travel around with the rear loading lights on too when not needed
question for you then fully loaded at 44 tons how easy is it for you to rejoin a busy road from a stand still safely ,say you have pulled over into a gate way /side turning

Its safe if you use your common sense about pulling out in front of someone! Its simple you wait until the traffic calms down.Trucks are the same as tractors in the fact cars dont want to let them out!

At that time of the day probably and quite rightly, checking to see if it was stolen/drunk driver/joy rider.

What would any of that have to do with VOSA? They have no powers to deal with Theft or Drink-driving.

vosa wouldnt deal with it but they would keep the offender there till the rozzers arrived

How would they know he was an offender? VOSA don’t have the power to demand a breath test, nor do they have access to the Lost/Stolen vehicles PNC database.

Been tol this week truck trailers are now illegal as you are only allowed one pivot point.Apparently farmers being pulled about it on the A64 at Malton

I’d have more faith in a 16 year old driving a loaded tractor and trailer than I do in an 18 year old let loose on the road with a loaded artic. A lot of youngsters on farms can hamdle the kit very well indeed & judging by some of the work they do on the farms, some should be recognised as craftsmen.

One thing that does puzzle me is why their kit doesn’t have to have regular inspections the same as lorries do. Considering a lot of old artic trailers finish their working lives on farms I don’t understand why they no longer require inspections once they’re pulled by a tractor instead of a tractor unit.
