They had a spot up in Scotland on the east coast.

Most of the VOS drivers in Continental Europe do not speak English

Vos Logistics to strengthen market position
Vos Logistics to strengthen market position by optimising international transport capacity and making further efficiency improvements

More flexible transport capacity
Operational excellence programme to improve quality and efficiency
About 200 jobs to go

European logistics service provider Vos Logistics intends to further optimise the organisation of its international transport activities. In addition, the current operational excellence programme in the office network will be continued to further enhance efficiency in combination with quality improvements. These measures to strengthen the company’s position in the European market complement the strategy Vos Logistics launched in 2008 to reduce its cost base and increase its flexibility to operate profitably and sustainable in a very competitive and rapidly changing market.

The economic recession has further weakened international freight tariffs and placed pressure on margins. The impact is being aggravated by the increased competition from former East Bloc countries. Vos Logistics intends to increase the flexibility of its international transport operations and relocate them to Eastern Europe. It took an important step in 2009 with the hiving off of Vos Polska as a trucking organisation for Cargo and Bulk. As a result, Vos Logistics has a firm base to optimise its international transport using a mix of its own capacity and the flexible capacity of subcontractors.

These proposals will lead to the loss of about 200 jobs in Europe. Compulsory redundancies will be sought for 115 people in the Netherlands and regular staff turnover will reduce the workforce by a further 20 employees. In the other countries in which Vos Logistics is active, there will be consequences for about 65 employees. The number of compulsory redundancies in these countries will be limited.

Yes. correct.

I put it my way as most Dutch or Flemish people will speak decent English unless they come from Friesland or Lanaken. Most of the VOS girls and boys I met are better versed in Slavic or Cyrillic languages :stuck_out_tongue:

I was there for 3 months, left for the same reasons which was a shame, the actual work was ok, spoiled by a bellend, you got BS off him even when you did nothing wrong, the loaders at their main contract site did a sweepstake on how many drivers came and went in a year :open_mouth: :open_mouth: ( I kid you not) it was October and I was no.87!!! they could not have been ALL wrong, and him right. One of the lads who was an experienced old hand, who got sick and left, informed the Dutch but nothing came of it, as long as job was getting done, the driver situation didn,t bother them.

thats exactly how van den bosch work, with an onboard computer, everytime you stop it wants to know why, and then you don’t get paid

IMO it was them Cloggies that totally ■■■■■■ up International transport, they where at the front of the queue to give our Turkish cousins the chance to drive something decent for an apittance of a wage, whilst they stayed home carting chips round near europe & the rest is really history. Don’t get me wrong I’ve met some sound old blokes from Holland its nothing personal to The Dutch but they let every race known to man after the wall came down drive for them & now Vos is sending letters out saying its not fair, well Mr Vos you as I recall where 1 of the first Dutch whorliers to let any cheap creature climb into your lorries & as they say you reap what you sow in life.

Hope I don’t sound too bitter but FFS Harry Vos whining on about 3rd world competition what a complete ■■■■ hole :imp:
