1996 940 turbo. Drinks a lot but I love her. She’ll have to go eventually as can’t get parts any more - some toerag smashed the rear window and it took 6 weeks to get a replacement!
Don’t get rid, it’s guaranteed that whatever you replace it with will disappoint in short order and whatever you save on fuel the replacement will cost far more in depreciation and repairs.
Agreed on both points, plenty of Volvo breakers around for glass etc and a lot of on-line places to get mechanical parts from. I used one in Finedon. I had my handbrake cable snap one Christmas Eve afternoon and my local motor factor actually had one in stock, I fitted it on Boxing Day! 
My 940 turbo petrol wasn’t too thirsty, around 33 mpg solo and 20 with the caravan on the back.
