What a brilliant idea!

Maybe they had them in for the inclement weather we had last month !!
Or maybe they came up with it as a clever publicity idea that clearly works! I like many I imagine have been broken down miles from anywhere rapidly getting hungry and thirsty

No they’ve done them for ages. First seen one about five years ago when Volvo (or a contractor for Volvo) turned up to fix an air leak.

Well I’ve had the fitters out 3 times in the last 6 months (joys of having an aging Volvo fleet) and it’s the first lot I’ve had, maybe the fitters take them home !

I had a similar thing from Scania when I called them out on the M1 about 3 years ago

Most likely. My mate is a Volvo fitter and seems to live off them
Edit: also I’ll add I got the snack box over in France not here in the UK.
I used to get them regularly, never liked the bag of bird food they give you but the pringles were fine.
The temporary repair, wouldn’t happen to have been on the major +be wire from the batteries to the cab, and broken near the battery box. (Common fault) on Fh13and V4.

No the stay strap for the drivers door snapped and I couldn’t shut the door, all I needed was an adjustable and I could have taken it off but dont carry one.
I’ve had one before also, about 2 years ago when they came out, it’s a great idea, shame the RDC’s don’t do this when they keep you there for hours lol.
In fairness, MAN have done them for about 10 years. A bottle of water, some shortbread biscuits, a pen, note paper, and something else (I can’t remember what). All in a little cool bag, which comes in surprisingly handy. Whether the service agents or technicians actually gave them out is a different story.
sounds a good idea.
they should tell daf/mv comercials

That`s seriously bad luck mate.
Did the other ten or so gearboxes go the same way?
Sorry.
I`m outta here.
I wanna know where the DAF ones are - would never need to buy snacks again with the truck i tend to drive!
Merc didn’t hand them out either when i had first break down.
