I have an 05 fh12 500 manual gearbox tag axle that is sick and in need of a replacement gearbox. Not sure whether to scrap it or look a replacement. Anyone any idea of cost for a replacement box and where one could be located.
I normally get my gearboxes repaired, the last I shift I had done cost about £1300. What’s wrong with your manual box?
Last time I rebuilt a Volvo gearbox it was on some crappy little FL4 rigid.
The parts for a standard 6 speed syncro box was about 1600 quid and this is 25 years ago.
BRS bought the parts but about a year later it started playing up again so they scrapped the bloody thing.Nice little truck but the parts were bloody ridiculous price.
