This is my first post here. I will hopefully contribute more in the future, this time I am looking for some help.
I am looking to upgrade the stereo in my FL6, it is a 24v Blaupunkt.
My local Volvo dealer in Blantyre sells two decent 12v stereos, I have asked them a few times when taking my vehicle for service how to fit them, they tell me to just plug them in.
The voltage supplied to my stereo just now is 28V, the max allowed by the stereo I want to buy is 18v.
Does anyone know how to fit a 12v stereo to a Volvo FL6.
HI , YOUVE GOT TO USE AN INLINE DROPPER,24-12V,IF YOU JUST PLUG IT IN TO A 24V SUPPLY,THE ONLY TUNE YOU WILL HAVE IS ," WHEN SMOKE GETS IN YOUR EYES ",
im sure its just a 12v system mate, the R reg fl6-18 urban artic my father had, it was on long term hire to a brewery and the long distance driver (he ran to skye & oban with it) fitted his own car cd player. it should just slid in and use the original cables or wiring adapter
You’ll definately need a voltage dropper mate.
When you get the stereo give me a shout through pm and i’ll sort you out with one.
I’ve got two or three spares lying about.
