Volvo FH (55 plate) fridge broken

I wonder if you can help me with this.
The truck has a fridge fitted under the bunk but the (not working here any more) driver has broken the front off it.
There is a cable which was attached to a handle on the front cover which is now in bits, but pulling it does not release the fridge.
It looks like the fridge is a drawer type, designed to pull out from under the bunk and then open at the top.

Something has crawled into the fridge and died, now it is trying to kill anyone who drives the truck.

Any advice as to how to get the fridge to slide out from under the bunk would be really helpful, especially if it can be done without doing it any more damage.

Pull the cable that should release the lock, if that dont work your ■■■■■■■ the lock is on the bottom of the drawer right at the back so almost impossible to get to.

The truck smells a lot better, too.
