hi all,
brilliant photos of a job well done :sunglasses:,the armchair critics should see these images, before they say things like, “they never had this and that on a 141”.very well done to all involved :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses: .
regards andrew.

You need to check out www.blocket.se the Swedish equivalant of eBay every now and then as there are sometimes bits & pieces on there.
There’s a couple of bits at the moment brand new.

I’d like to thamk Allan Carruthers, Kevin Walsh and Lance Biscombe for making my Friday/Saturday parts collection run from Caerphilly to Scotland and back [3 pick ups] worthwhile.

The Volvo parts I aquired will help a lot in my F89 restoration. I am still looking for more stuff though, so if anyone can help please get in touch.
Regards,
Rowland.

Hiya rward…you missed two shows on your hike. it was the Leyland gathering at the leyland musium only a couple of miles of jct 25(i think) and Astle park steam show 6 miles of Jct18… it would have been worth the detour while you was in the right area…we’ed have made you a cuppa.

Just a small point if anyone is in contact with the owner of this F16, he’s got the headlight wipers on the wrong sides, (O/S on N/S etc) the ‘dog leg’ in the arm is so that when they park ‘at the bottom’ of the light they don’t intrude on the light beam.

Not wishing to be pedantic, just an easy thing get wrong and just as easy to put right.

Ross.

Rowlys 143 ‘doing a bit’ ,Shane Jones took the photo and did the driving.

The F89 was just a stopgap cos the F10/12 was almost ready for production.Scania were already selling big engined motors so Volvo had to come up wiyh something quick until they could release the F10/12.

It was the F88 290 which was a stop gap for right hand drive markets the F89 was out late 60s or early 70s

That is correct, the old 240 couldn’t cut the mustard with the new stuff so they brought out the 290, built in Irvine and sold in the UK only.

The Titan Tiptop was launched in 1965 and it was fitted with a 330 in 1970

This is a pic of when it belonged to White Trux of Dover and used to be driven by a chap called Tony Buckle on Middle East work.

That rings a bell.

I’ve answered your PM at last Dave, after coming across it by accident this evening. :unamused:

Do you still have Tony’s motor? I think you are in Lancs, a bit out of the way for me this trip back though. :frowning:

I sent you an email too, belt and braces, if you want to reply best use email.

Bloody Hell David, are you well?
I was thinking about you last week when we spent the weekend in Morizes and then up to Angouleme for the Circuit Les Essarts. I used to have a phone number but it was on my old phone in the UK. I even saw one of the company lorries that you drove

Hope everything is OK in Perigeaux

I’m very well Malc, and yourself?

I stumbled in here by accident last night and found an old PM from Scrapper about my old mate Tony Buckle’s F89 at WhiteTrux and stayed to look around.

Pity it wasn’t a bit sooner, Angoulême is only an hour up the road from here. :frowning:

I’ll send you a message later in the day and remind you of my details, meanwhile a quick look at the best routier thread will bring you up to date with my new life.
