I’m trying to find the whereabouts of the F89 reg no SJL262S which used to belong to Geoff Gilbert International, and was sold to Davies of Southampton. I have spoken to John Davies (Buzzer) but he has no recollection of where this truck went to. If anybody has any information at all on the whereabouts of said vehicle, whether it has been scrapped or exported I would be grateful. It’s a long shot but you never know, someone might have that crucial piece of information. I only want the registration number and not the truck because Geoff has a refurbished F89 and is trying to put it back in it’s original condition with the original registration number. Any help would be appreciated. JM

Hi all here are a couple of pictures of SJL 262 S the first as she came from Geoff Gilbert as a 4 x 2 and the second after she was painted in our colours and converted to a 6 x 2 by Hartshorne in Birmingham, this was done when the weights went up to 38 tons in 1983, cheers Buzzer.
Evening all…Buzzer, forgive me…Never, oh Never, would Bentley Mill Lane, let alone Bentley Mill Close be termed as Birmingham… Its the Royal Spa town of WALSALL!
Rob Owens and I had a seperate price list for Birmingham Operators…(.Plus 10%)…

Sorry Saviem perhaps I should have said the Black country instead for a wider spectrum, as for the spot light arrangement I had four hella spot lamps under all the Volvo’s of that time that I owned
And here she is actually working for it’s keep.
