Hi my father purchased it from Griffin mill in ponty in early 75 ish. It’s a 240 but has a 290 grille. Mostly used in Europe with a bit of Middle East work. It might well have been sold by mansell davies new my knowledge of it is limited by the fact that I was less than 10 years old when it was sold. He ran the lorry from Talgarth
no worries thanks for the info.
wouldn’t have thought Griffin Mill sold it new with a Carmarthen Reg plate, unless it had been specified to have a BX reg number which could have been transfered between dealerships!
regards,
EW
My father bought it when it was about 12 to 18 months old he was the second owner
That would explain it, my mind is working o/t trying to think who could have been the 1st owner !
I could contact mansell davies just in case they have records of their truck sales
That’s ok, i know the truck sales manager there will ask him when i see him next
This Volvo does feature on here in some other posts later on in its life under the ownership of Mike toms with a red cab steel rear mudguards not the rubber Quary belting as fitted by my father to ease the fitting of snow chains
