This looks great , love the old metal front , there were some FB86 6x2 tractors in Norway and the UK factory built on the 3.0 M wheelbase , as same as short tipper , but down under they had 6x4 tractors
Hi Philip,
How’s the restoration going?
Hopefully this photo is the correct one, it’s the first time I’ve tried to post a pic.
my dad used to drive an artic F86 for Pings but on the odd occasion he would drive this old girl. There is something about the F86 that brings back memories of school holidays with my dad I remember him opening the engine hatch in the middle of the cab to get some warmth into the cab, I would love to have an opportunity to drive one but I doubt that will ever happen.
Sorry for not putting any progress up for a few months but I will be doing soon
Phil
driving through melton mowbray today,i spotted an f86 cab on the back of a small truck.the f86 was blue, with j + m garn teeside sign-written on the side…hopefully not going for scrap! the small truck was from guyhirn
Small truck from Guyhirn with an old cab on the back… sounds like something to do with John Thomas.
I have painted the roof white to lighten the cab up a little. the name board is being lettered at the moment and the door handles are being re chromed at the as well, and hopefully will have a new windscreen by the end of the week.Phil
Looking good Phil, nice coat of paint.
