Volvo F12 Restoration

I have a old F12 which i will be restoring shortly and i have been searching the web for other restorations but i can not find any sites that document the restoration of a volvo f10 /f12, there are plenty of finished restoration pictures but no before during and after documented projects. any help to find any other ongoing volvo f10 / f12 restoration projects will be much appreciated .

just started with this one 0

waiting for the weather to get better then do some sand blasting0

Hiya artic monkey…whats the reg mate■■? when i looked on the index and it said restoring a F10, i was going

hi john its reg no is J780 REH got it from arthur shirley last october and besides the damage to the rear corner and the turbo oil pipe leaking its in reasonable condition and i have the new pannal ready to be welded in, the oil leak was sorted with a copper washer which cost 79 pence. just a few more little bits and pieces needed and to get on with painting now just waiting for some better weather

I’ve just picked up a LHD F16 that I intend to restore. In all honnesty calling what I have to do a restoration is an insult to restorers as a light re-furb would be a better description of whats needed, I will be re-trimming the seats in leather but won’t be going for a ‘custom look’, just how I would have liked it to look when I was running Volvo ‘F’ series trucks.

That will have been Jan 4th so a couple of weeks ago, I think we got away from Dover about 12:00 so if that’s in your time frame it prob was us trying to keep it below 60mph ‘unit only’ with 500 horses and a strangely useless speed limiter :smiling_imp: It was doing 90kph at about 1,200rpm so it’s deffo geared for motorway work

I’ve pretty much decided on (Mercedes) Ash Black in ‘full pearl’ (which is a very dark grey) or Blue Black (also Merc) pearlescent, grey chassis with light grey leather seats, the rest of the interior can stay standard as it’s in really decent nick.

Thanks, I will be having the chassis blasted and painted as well. It was first reg’d 22nd June 1994 so it’s ‘late’ one that will be an ‘L’ reg when I get it on the UK register.
