To avoid it again recomend to ur mate to back hand a handy volvo technician to switch off his adblue system then he’ll have no more problems the 5o is non the wiser his monthly fuel bill will be less & it will still sail through a mot on emissions
cats are easily cleaned out with detergent and water.the little holes in the baffles get blocked and causes lack of power.

the cat has to be removed to clean it out properly… i only ever clean cats out with a high pressure air blow gun as i have seen in the past the “dusty” carbon build up just turn gooey & completly ruin the cat when liquid has been used.

never had owt to do with cleaning out a cat, out of interest how much crap do you blow out after taking the thing apart?
it’s just that I have a vision of a fitter stood outside the garage door blowing the crap to where it would have been if the thing was not fitted in the first place!

there is ■■■■ loads of sut comes out its a good idea to wear a mask 
& yep that is excatly what happens outside & blow it to atmospher
Maybe get the scrap cat repaired and save as a spare or sell it.
if a man made them another can zb it or fix it.lol. 
Should have took the cat off bashed the hell out of it with a big stick,First removing NOx 1 and NOx 2 sensors refitted it and saved himself a whole lot of cash.
its all tripe no way can an inboard ecu measure NOx levels down to 6 parts in a million.They do not even have this at test stations they go on ecu readouts which are also a load of tripe.
