Fantastic. He got what he deserved, pompous you know what .
It is shame you could not isolate the battery switch and pretend you had flat batteries and the nearest call out van was three hours away attending more important break downs.
Some air let out the tyres.
Nearest tyre fitter is two hours away.
Put that in his pipe and smoke it.
Some folks are just thick,i could see a car coming around some snaking corners on a narrowing road.
I slow down hoping she will see a big artic.
No she can not see me and keeps coming.
She now has worked out she is trapped at the back of the trailer on the tight bend.
No forward thinking by car drivers.
Then they blame the lorry driver for their stupidity.

Did the 700 year old bridge at Bradford on Avon collapse with the weight of a fleet of coaches for the Olympic tour?
How much does a coach weigh,ok for that media frenzy but the local paper loves to name and shame all the firms that get fined for crossing with Lgv’ s.
A driver could lose his job or house if got the sack.
If other roads were shut due to accidents,BOA may be the only way.

Westbury was due a bypass over 40 years ago, but Beckington got it instead in the 90’s.
As mentioned, the place is a dump.

What? No hi-vis jackets ■■? … Tut! Tut!

I had some posh git in a Range Rover waving his arms and having a rant last summer, complaining about artics driving through a village. 7.5ton restriction except for access but I was delivering 2 pallets of egg liquids to a bakery there. Too much of a busy day to stay and chat so I just put on an East European accent which seemed to enrage him more

I’m up for it ----- I’m retired with nothing better to do, and with a bit of luck, I can spot some Stobbies whilst I’m at it!

If you think these people have too much time on their hands, then try joining the Caravan Club. They have imposed a ban on supermarket drivers delivering on site, due to (perceived) health and safety. It actually has far more to do with snobbery of not having ‘tradespeople’ on site though. Ditto they raise their noses if you tow with a signwritten vehicle.

I think that folks have to appreciate that non truckers don’t like trucks, in the same way that non cycling truckers hate cyclists. Sadly we all have to share the road space out there and lorries jammed under bridges or dropping their loads on roundabouts are never going to convince a small element of society, that all the other drivers out there try to drive professionally and with consideration for others…

Several people tooting their horns at me in Steyning earlier; What do they think a flour lorry would possibly be doing, parked outside a bakery with the curtain open?
I think “Lorry Watch” is the new neighbourhood watch. A bunch of nosy bar stars with nothing to do except stick their noses into other peoples’ business. Our area has recently become neighbourhood watch, couple of sad pricks keep going up and down the road with clipboards knocking on doors, stopping the local PCSOs when they walk past etc. Sad gits.

There’s a village near me that has 13m length restrictions on trucks because of a bend in it , its passable with care in an artic , a local resident who is also a councillor got it put in due to traffic chaos caused , mostly caused by car drivers who can’t reverse or move out the way , the diversion route is about 50 miles round!

The local service bus is allowed to use it at 15.3m though , two go through every hour in both directions , anyway this local NIMBY has a habit of abusing truck drivers when an obstruction occurs , he has signs outside his house to report misuse by lorries etc !

Due to the nature of the village & his house in it, he just happens to be at the narrowest point where mirrors skim the walls with his house & those opposite.

About a month ago I had to deliver his heating oil, he was a new customer, the notes said to phone for instruction on where to locate tank, turns out its in the back with no access but through the front door & pull the pipe out the back & up a bank , I knew this was going to be awkward & amusing to myself at the same time, ( my mate just happens to be a reporter of the local paper) I told the customer I would be there on Thursday (market day locally) also the day I would have the drag on so over the restrictions length, not that it would of made a difference with just the rigid unit, road would of still been blocked, I thought around 845am would be perfect for this, and I wasn’t wrong.
My reporter friend was well informed & my plan was put into action , I took as long as I possibly could , nearly 20mins, by which time traffic had built up in both directions to a tremoundous length , at least 2miles , there were people walking down the road kicking off about I shouldn’t be there etc, I pointed them to the councillor’s house with the signs & pipe coming out the door , he was getting abuse as well as his picture taken , it was fun & I don’t think he’s given any grief to any truck lately …

May I congratulate you on the best and funniest post of 2014 sir? :grimacing: :grimacing: fantastic.

Kemaro…That’s brilliant, utterly brilliant…well done to you, the reporter & the public for giving the Councillor (by definition: usually never done a real day’s work in their lives??) grief!!!

I did enjoy it, I live up the road from this area , its the a487 at lowertown ,between Fishguard & Newport in Pembrokeshire, some of you may know it , its the coast road & the alternative is over the mountain road, I know the councillor & we’ve had run ins before over issues locally, this one mainly , I’ve tried to get on the local council recently but he campaigned to stop me , politics! So for me it was an amazing opportunity, his face was a picture when he saw it was me, unfortunately for him his wife had already let me in as she doesn’t know me, I’m sure he wouldn’t of, the story never made the paper! Although it was well known locally , the restrictions still stands , I still go through it at daily, I have noticed the signs from his house have now gone though …

Has anyone e mailed the prick yet?

Lets face it,Nimbies are just thick, over educated idiots that can not change a fuse in a plug.
Make them collect their own goods they ordered in a wheel barrow.
How odd it is how they are pleased to see a lorry delivering what they ordered on the internet.
There are no Anti-truck Nimbies in Europe.
Over there, you are respected and given room by car drivers.
A whole month truck strike should make Joe Public realise how important trucks are.
Starve them all.Supermarkets empty,no fuel,no nothing.
Who would ask for volunteers on a truckers website, not that bright,is he?
