Have any of you guys ever done volouneering abroad using your hgv licence? eg…Red cross, VSO or world aid?
Its something I would like to try in the future and thought I would ask if anyone has any experiences?

charities earn a heck of a lot of money, only a very small percentage goes directly to those that need it.
i’ve done 8 humanitarian aid runs, but i’ve been paid for it, although i have done the jobs for a tad less than i would if it was commercial work.
No, but we’re (me an missus) are planning a year off work either next year or 2014, and this idea has appealed to us too.
Any further info from anyone who’s been down this route would be gratefully recieved.

He did a charity run last year / earlier this year if I remember correctly, not sure if it’s the same as I think he’d do a lot of the organisation too, not just volunteered as a driver
