The government knows that.It’s got nothing to do with ‘retirement age’ it’s just effectively a taxation increase by cutting the state pension entitlement while charging the same/more in taxes (national insurance contributions) for what they know they aren’t going to pay anyone back.It’s just a rip off of paying taxes and national insurance contributions just for the so called unemployment benefit in return instead of state pension.Not surprising considering that the Brits seem to be prepared to accept every type of rip off which the government comes up with.
It would be better to knock the whole state provision bs on the head and sue the government for breach of contract for return of all contributions + interest then arrange private cover and/or pay the mortgage off with the money saved.

when she made a speech about how wonderful everyone was for turning out, and how much she appreciated what everyone had done. she could have a least finished it off with something like “and before i leave you to enjoy the celebrations, i would like to inform you all that the prime minister, and his cabinet have been arrested and are being held in the tower of london, parliament has been disbanded, power will no longer belong to the Eton boys, it will be firmly in the hands of the citizens of great britain, and norther ireland. have a nice day.”
