Visa checkpoint m74

This might sound like a stupid question… As titled vosa site was open today and yellow and black sign picturing truck with a message enter checkpoint, guessing you only enter if directed by a vosa officer?

You only needed to stop if you had a Visa card, you could keep going if you had Mastercard or American Express cards as they weren’t being checked that day

:grimacing: damm should of previewed that before i hit submit lol

You can go back and edit it now you know. To answer your question you are fine to carry on past unless otherwise directed by police/DVSA.

They could be having a test run for border & immigration control ahead of Scottish independence

On my way past last week mr vosa came down the slip road prior to the check point just in front of me and behind the foreign truck in front of me. He pulled round the foreigner and gave him the follow me

Very rare to pass there and not see a Taliban parked with the wire through the wheels.
“Candy from a baby”
springs to mind.[emoji6]

It’s by invitation only, anything else is considered as gatecrashing…terribly bad manners old chap.

One time i went past and got the “all goods vehicles enter check point” sign…

so i drove in, just to be told to go straight back out again !!

£80 too remove the wire is shocking really , in saying that are win canton going too send a van / driver out in the middle of the night too remove it for less , that said it just gets put in with the rest of the driver expenses so not the end of the world

Everything when you’re in dozy world.

I wonder if they were awarding club points to the good drivers.

there are two different signs at the Carlisle checkpoint…
they both restrict target vehicles from lanes 2 and 3
sometimes displaying picture of trucks
sometimes coaches.
so if I was in a truck and the sign restricted coaches, I would probably ignore the restriction because it doesn’t apply to my vehicle.

At Carlisle they come and take them off at night , I didn’t see them but heard the van , i was told by the vosa chap that’s who would be taking it off , I’d of thought he’d have more knowledge of who does and doesn’t take them off than my mate knows , the wire was left by office , you don’t pay them obviously when they take it off , you pay the vosa bloke before he goes .
The proabition notice was left on windscreen
so binned it
Nb this is n/b , no knowledge of s/b procedures or any other station

It’s not my world , it’s fact , born from recent experience , at night they use win canton too take the wires off , or they do n/b at Carlisle
