Do I need to buy one for a 7.5t. I know you have to pay tolls on the new A2…But not sure if you have to buy the tax for elsewhere. Help please.
I think it starts at 12t. I know the ones I buy have = or over 12t on them, as you can see in this picture -
I have never been asked about the weight of my vehicle when buying one and I think if there was an over 12t and a less than 12t one I would have been. I have been asked about EURO class but never weight.
try this site it is from the Stickys on the forum here,HERE
IT is up to date and will help you as well ,
Thanks gentlemen. I have been before, but not in a 7.5t. Going tomorrow to Swidnik, nr Lublin. I will take pics this time!
No, vignette is for >12t; you’ll only have to pay motorway toll where weight does not matter, the rates vary by axle count and single-/twin wheels.

It’s not too up to date if it shows vignettes for 3,5 to 12 tons, wchich were scrapped in 2008…
Answer to OP: No, you don’t, but you have to pay for motorways.
But: The A4 toll bit between Kraków and Katowice is very crowdy and always some roadworks there, and mind that you have queue TWICE to pay.
My advice: If you’ll go that way, just before the toll (signed as “PÅATNA”) bit starts, take left to S1, then right for Olkusz, then you’ll land on the same roundabout you would land when you take motorway for Kraków. Then from that rondabout head back for Katowice and take the Kraków orbital - you are on free part of A4 again.

I was doing it several times on the van and car, and on many occasions it was FASTER than going via motorway, even despite that from Olkusz to Kraków (almost) it’s only single carriage road.
And on this bit, you have some decent places to stop, cheaply fuel and good food (for example the big service station on the left just after Olkusz).
If I would drive there at night, I would definitely go for that option.
If I would drive there during the day, I would consider it when there was a queque on the motorway in Katowice just before cut off for Tychy - it it’s busy there, it will be definitely busy at the tolls.
And during the rush hours, I would go via motorway, unless there are some roadworks…
Tip two:

This manuevre can save you half of the motorway toll, as it allows you to go arround the first toll plaza
But do not do it in busy period, as you have to go trough the town…
I’ve been driving that way last Christmas, in daylight, and it took me 10 minutes longer by car to go that way than via motorway, as tolls were extremally busy (and I saved for a good brew )
Try this as well for those may be Intrested
HERE will also post it in the stickys
I’m off to Swidnik Orys…Been before. I went through Warsaw last time, because I got lost…LOL.
This time I am better prepared. Plus, I know where I’m going this time. Through LODZ and around that way.

Yeah, I forgot that they build A2 motorway…
Before it, believe or not, it was much faster to go along the A4 to Kraków and then along the WisÅ‚a river…
