We ran friday night with3 trucks from Germany over Hollland into Belguim
and stopped at Heerlen to buy 3 vignettten
The girl selling the vignette was very busy ,and i joked to her she should stick her maschine on the hard shoulder and we could all help ourselfs, to which she repleyed " Its only until the first of april and then the drivers can only get them over the internet"
you will still be able to get the vingette at those places
when useing your fuel or paying cash,as not every one
will be able to order via the internet,it just makes it
easyer for those firms who have a account with
AGES,
gbtransp:
Does this count for the whole system ?or are only the dutch not going to sell them anymore
From the press release:
It will replace the paper vignette system
The word replace seems to imply the paper system will disappear altogether and it will only be available online. They will have terminals at borders and in service stations along the lines of the maut machines so a driver can still purchase the vignette while on the road. See THIS VIDEO for details.

Which seems to say they wonât be having a terminal so a driver can book an e-vignette in their place
I have seen quite a lot of funny looking sensors springing up in France. I can see all of Europe will be charged per km soon. France is suffering because the Eastern Bloc drivers are coming through Swiss into France, From Germany into France, From Belgium into France and from Luxembourg into France. and then obviously from the UK into France.
Has everyone got the Telepeage units as they are 50% cheaper than a Caplis card now
this might make it easier to get the vignette required for the benelux countries.i have had some trouble trying to get it when comingup from france and germay.cant be got on the lux border,i had to drive to the belgian border and hope not to be stopped on the way.i had to pay cash, they dont take cards,it was only 8 euro, but also the office only work normal working hours.
they dont make it easy.
when you come from germany into holland via the venlo border, you got to go to asten to get it.i was in the texaco on the dutch side one night, they dont sell it.
they said the police understand.
we should not have to put up with this incompetence on behalf of the charging governments.
the french system may cost the french a lot,but the gendarmerie can never do you for not paying road tolls, they will find something else,i know them of old.
but there system works.
why should we have to go looking for a place to pay.
as for paying over the net, thats ok if the company are up and running on the net,not all are.
as a driver of an irish truck and sometimes an english one.
thses trucks have tax discs on them.
i was led to believe at the start of the eec or eu,the vehicle must have road tax paid in the country of orogin to be legit on eurpoean roads.
all this maut and vignette and peage is nothing but double taxation, just another way of keeping our wages down,
try looking at the euro tips spot on this site
as the ages site has a list of where you can get the
euro-vingette,you can get the vingette in france just look at the
link in the vingette site, also IN the custom point in by luxemburg
you can get the vingette also by the airport,
that right, you can get it by the airport, but it will cost you 400 euro for leaving the motorway if you are iun transit.
you know the signs
transit obligitair.
they have all the odds stacked against the driver in lux.
greg50 go on the http://www.ages.de

You can buy a vignette at the newly re-opened services on the A31 just as you come past Metz, the Aire De La Maxe, and they are open 24/7.
Our firm have fitted telepeage units to all our trucks as from 1st Jan,though it is cheaper,it certainly isnât quicker, certainly not as quick as the televia in Italy.

When I used to run up from darn sarf, I would either buy my vignette here or at the Toul services on the A31.
The sale point in the last lay by before the Lux border was not open 24/7 and was invariably stuffed during opening hours

The airport was never really an option for transit traffic.
Theyâll pick you up at the border and do you for not having a valid vignette at point of entry.
When Germany was a member of the Eurovignette system, I used to regularly leave home on Sunday night in Germany, transit Lux into France, having âforgottenâ to purchase a vignette.
This worked well for a couple of years until the Germans, in their infinite wisdom, decided to opt out of the Eurovignette system, prior to the introduction of the Maut.
The Zoll in Lux soon got wise to the fact that loads of Germans were trying to clear Lux in the wee small hours without a vignette and started to carry out border checks.
I was duly collared at 2am on a Monday morning, and having insufficient funds in the old sky rocket , was chauffeur driven in a customs van to a hole in the wall in Wasserbillig to enable said customs operatives to waddle off with ââÂŹ150 worth of folding beer tokens courtesy of yours truly

And there was me thinking that the ânight permitâ system covered you for that.
I used to tell 'em I couldnât read in the dark, cos I only went to school in the day, but they wouldnât believe me.
