Had delivery small place in Chorley. Booked in for 12 30 get there 12ish see security.
Only small place 1 wagon yards full…get told park on road. trailer on road is next then me.
So far so good. Trailer waiting goes in. Another trailer parks behind me. My turn go in security refuses. Me says he’s next he should been here 11 running late about hour and half late so he goes 1st.
My argument is I was there on time. So surely I go 1st .
If you arrive late you should join the que wait your turn.
And place isn’t a rdc or stuff that’s perishable etc.
For the record was about.13.00 when was tipped.
And don’t get me started on booking in slots when you then wait around for hours.
Basically it’s not up to you (the driver) and nor is it your problem. If a company wants an earlier but late running booking in before you then it’s not up to you. Let your company know and if they have issue with it then it’s up to them to complain (if that ever does any good). You just sit there and chill out until your called in.
It’s there call maybe they needed Him more than you
Everywhere is different I’d say, some will do it first come first served some will try and do it in some kind of order and then there was ones like 3663 if you turned up a minute late they’d say “your late drive park up we’ll tip you when we can” which meant go and sit on the naughty step, at the end of the day they’ll do it to suit themselves and gobbing off will get you nowhere fast !!

Very much this.
I’d be calling the office, letting them make the decision. They want stuff gone and don’t 2ant the hassle of returning it to wherever so they’ll say wait in which case you’re covered to sit there on pay. Job done.
As said it’s not your call, it’s up to the delivery point. You can’t change them so don’t let it bother you.
Are you hourly paid ? If so just sit and wait [emoji6]

I’m hourly paid but I want to get home, so I would have been a bit cheesed off too.
Swings & roundabouts though isn’t it, I’ve turned up early at places & got straight on a bay & delayed those who turn up on time afterwards. I’m not complaining about it then.

Sounds like wolsley in lemington spa there very precise with there timings.and moan if your 1 min late.
In my eyes I’d say 15 20 mins lea way. But if your more than an hour late .you should be refused or made to wait.

Why should you be refused? They’ve ordered the stuff so they obviously want it, we don’t just drive around the country with lorries full of tat thinking “oh, that looks a likely place, I’ll go tip there”. All I can do is get to my first delivery on time, after that it’s totally out of my hands as I’m at the mercy of every petty goods in twonk with a God complex.
3663 are a great example; I may get to Banbury on time and be kept 3 hours, by the time I get to Slough they say “you’re late, you’ll have to wait”. The fact that it was their sister depot that made me late is totally lost on them and all they’re doing is ensuring that I’m really late for my next delivery.

It’s like this at B&Q stores. You will get delayed at one sat behind one of their double deckers being tipped and reloaded, then all the ones your late for will be moaning at you, even though you were delayed by other people in their company.
Paid…by…the…hour
Feet up, kettle on. I’ll sit, or rather sleep, until I’m called
