Victors old place,Burgos national one

Think i was the only one to cross the small pedestrian footbridge that went across the national one, there is a national park with good views and a small mediaval village within half an hours walk from the truck stop, even better when the snow was there. Most of them would have been sleeping off the night before at the "Star nightclub"next door to the big hotel.5000 pesestas was the going rate, about £20,for a bit of slap and tickle.
The cafes and restaurants/hotels there are owned by Moroccans and Romanians, except for the end cafe, think it is a family from Galicia that run it.Good old fashioned meat stews, hearty potatoe soup.

Thought Continental Express went Pamplona/Agreda/Alamazan 101 route.Guess they can go which way they please. :astonished:

Got stuck in the snow there for about 4 days in the early 90s…Christ did we spend some money…thank God for DKV…

We go both ways if you need ■■■■ agreda has a good tabac plus also you have to look at the weather Sunbilla pamplona is not nice if it snows. Alamazan is good for the bird lovers stop and look at the storks.

This is gonna sound like a daft question, but has Victors moved ? if so when? I don’t get to Spain much any more and in the last couple of years I’ve never had time to turn off the motorway, last time I actually stopped there must’ve been 2007.

Ross.

Hi Gregg, my bike was with the rest in the back of the wagon on the way to Jerez, in fact, I’m in the early stages of organising a pre season trip for next year with 2 days in Portugal at Portamao, 1 day off, then 2 at Jerez so will be passing Victors on the way down.

I’ll stop in and be thinking of you mate!! :unamused:

Ask for the famous potatoe soup, delicous, warm in winter months."Soupa de patatas, por favor."Has meat in it,and served with fresh baked bread.
The bar/resturant at the side of the petrol station has better food, friendly onwners from Galicia region of Spain.
The club is still there. But Victor himself went ages ago.New owners. The big giant cheese shape hotel has a good deal for drivers, with discount if fancy a change from the cab.The working ladies will surface mid morning for their caffeine fix,in the hotel. They wont talk much, unless you are paying.
