There was another programme dedicated to destroying the industry today after the RAC suggested that roads should be widened and more new roads built.

One bloke rang in and said that trucks should be banned off the road and only run at nights, there were a couple of decent replies to this.

A driver rang in and said that although freight is carried by road at night. The nightime only lasts a small part of a drivers shift :stuck_out_tongue:

Apart from the bloke who said that there would be no petrol left in the world in 20 years and that car drivers should use shorter cars :question: instead of the 25 feet long cars. I suppose that would shorten queues by a few feet.

Was it just me listening?

No, I listened too, and tried to call in, but the phones were permanently engaged.

Was a most entertaining radio show. I love it when you get all the usual suspect calling for shorter cars !!,. and no trucks. At least the sales rep appreciated that Trucks have a purpose, unlike mothers taking their kids to school.

As if widening roads will make any difference anyway. The problem is down to the halfwitted idiots that use them incorrectly!!!

I quite enjoy Victorias show, and the topics are generally well mixed, they seem to have a better class of caller than Jeremy Vine, and she allows you to say what you want, unlike James Whale.

Dont get me wrong I enjoy James Whale, until he goes on about motorcycles :smiling_imp:

I heard it as well. I nearly crashed when that nutter said that the white lines should be removed from the motorways :laughing: and that rep ithought he was going to have a heart attack live on air, I dont even bother getting excited when the usual make lorries work at night or put freight on the rails comes up, people dont seem to realise that the well run transport companies off this land are allready doing this where at all possible, after all we cant all be civil servants supported by the over burdened tax payer, thats us.
I allways listen to 5 live now think its a lot better than anyting else.
