Updated just for the curious ones.
I sent a few emails and called up the head office and asked for the owner by name with something of significant interest to him. I was asked what for and said outright what my problems were. She took my number and I received a phone call from the owner who asked me what my gripes were and asked me to describe each and every gripe in detail. Anyway, he agreed things were shoddy, he offered me my job back and apologised to me for the shambles at my depot. I also bigged up the other depot which was good as I stated previously on here.
I kept up progress with my ex-colleagues and changes were my ex TM got the sack, new TM in and they have changed routes to suit drivers. Trucks all in better looked after and less strain on drivers.
I have a full time job driving a class one - Mon - Frid 6am starts till finish paid hourly but based on 48 hour week on good money for lack of experience. It’s a proper firm without a dodgy and clueless TM who tries to get you working bent.
I did my best for my ex firm, the best for the public and the best for the guys I took a shine to. I asked my new TM about jobs for some of my ex-colleagues and he’s taken two on, one on class one and one on class two as he has a DR on his record.
All in all, a result I am sure many will like. And now to the bells who knocked me for having a bit about me, go ■■■■ yourselves and join my ex-TM in the ■■■■ corner.
Yours,
A well wishing newb who just wants the good guys to win.

It did mate, thankfully. What was nice was being offered my job back, with pay also for the time I had off in between the phone call. I thought that was a generous offer and one he didn’t have to make. I called a pal who works there and his round has 3 less drops and he says that things are better across the board, the change of a TM alone made a hell of a difference. Nothing made me happier than passing on three numbers of drivers and seeing two of them get jobs here and the other stayed where he as because things had got better and the cost of commute was to be factored in.
But anyway mate, we did win. The good honest guys for once. It was worth speaking out and I am glad I stuck to my guns and did the right way instead of putting livelihoods and businesses at risk. If I have learned anything, it is that money takes second place to a good work place and that being content at work is a rich employee.
It’s also quite funny how I was supposedly going to be blacklisted from the trade to being offered a sound reference for the future and even my job back

Just goes to show that not every bit of advice you get on the internet is the right advice
Yeah, you’ve really got to crackdown on those TM’s that just put extra drops on for their own personal amusement.
Good riddance to them and in with the good guy TMs where everyone can kick back and relax with less drops and an easier job. Let’s just dispense with them based on one phone call from a former employee without any formal warning or disciplinary procedure required by employment law
I don’t have to take this to the weighbridge to know immediately it’s overloaded with BS.

I was thinking the same thing as you
Of course it could be that the OP was actually telling the truth and by getting in touch with head office he made them aware of the situation, they then discovered that the TM was in way over his head and took the necessary steps to resolve the situation
