Very angry now,A36,Valley of death

How many deaths does it take for the government to act,the A36 from Warminster to Southampton is a death trap, the locals refuse to go on it,and take the back roads,a week or so ago,a pensioner was killed, then before him,a couple, and many more before that, can you sue the government for not acting,it is all in the Wiltshire Times, enough is enough,no excuse of no money, dual it or by pass it,imagine your father or mother killed on it,your children, when they know it is not safe and not suitable for purpose.
Do not use it,take the A34,tothe M4,or A303.
A Hilmans tipper was involved in a fatal RTA,RTC,a few months ago.
Does a road have to have so many fatals before they have to do something?

Shut up its a nice pleasant drive, in fact one of my favourites.

fully agree with you toby, i saw 3 killed by the tin garage at wellow back in the 80;s . grandparents and grandson caused by a artic scrap metal tipper with a busted load sensor. 30years later and little has changed. A36 ower to bath and the old winchester bypass A33 to popham used to scare the ■■■■ out of me as a newbie

Is it the road or the poor driving of those using it? Have used that road many a time and to be honest the A350 is, IMHO, a greater challenge with any number of pinch points and the like.

id say the A9 is a worse road and needs sorted. 4 people killed within a space of a week recently.

Its not the road thats at fault its the idiot drivers that use it as a racetrack, (I used to be one when I was a kid).
Be careful, if too much is made of road safety the whole country will have lower speed limits whether its appropriate or not, and scameras will spring up everywhere.
What is really needed is proper driver education.

u have hit nail on head i work on the a345 salisbury amesbury road and the speed people go along that road is silly in one night there was 2 cars in a ditch a motorbike on side on road and 2 taxis collided in space of a mile and a half

A road isn’t dangerous. How can it be, it is a static piece of aggregate, it doesnt move and it is not violent. The people who travel over it however…

Valid point, like a gun, harmless on its own,but in the wrong hands.
