Veolia transporting Syrian waste

Just saw on the local news that it will be going to Ellesmere Port to be burnt. Drivers should probably be on danger money - chances are the “Won’t someone think of the children!” brigade will be out in force.

Thats a long distance trunk, 2 week trip? armoured tractor unit? armed convoys whilst in Syria?

hmm tempting, got to be worth some serious wonga, you could make some serious money on that if you live long enough.

Sorry to disappoint Juddian, but it docked today at Southampton (I think) and is travelling by road from there. £6.80 per hour anyone? What could possibly go wrong?

I don’t get it. Nuclear is it?

Chemicals used as weapons.

AIUI, it’s just various types of chemicals - acids mainly - which can be mixed to form chemical weapons, but which on their own are just normal chemicals. They’re being shipped round to Southampton, then roaded up. Though I must admit, as the ship looks specially chartered, I’m at a loss why they don’t ship direct to Ellesmere Port or at least Liverpool/Birkenhead

That’ll be done cheaper 20t on the floor and 20t hanging lamb on top

Lol, I should’ve guessed I suppose. Mind you if it’s done safe then more green backs for Blighty! & Christ knows we need them.

Years ago there was a place in Wales that cleaned waste of chemicals, We picked up parts of the plant that was specially coated inside with a rubber type compound…
