Hi Guys
does anyone know where i can get a similar copy to the below, with the formulas in
The formulas are simple to work out, you don’t need to be a rocket scientist. All you’re doing is adding all the total standing costs per year together and dividing it by the total km per year to get the per km figure. You do the same for your running costs and then you add the two totals of those results together to get the total cost per km in running and standing costs.
Basically all you need to do is add stuff up.
I have no idea what the percentage change is meaning at the bottom, I can only assume it is referring to another sheet because no permutation of calculations of any of the figures in the one you’ve posted gives you the figures at the bottom.
Percentage change will be from same vehicle previous year.
I think the figures came from
You can buy a sub or individual issues via the website…it’s not a paper magazine.
Thanks Conor
you make it sound so simple and clearly it is! as you may of guessed i’m not a whizz on excel. although i should be able to work this one out.
Thanks for the prompt reply
sorry
just a couple more questions
A. the example shown, shows a capital cost for the vehicle and depreciated over 5 years - very basically if you divide the cap cost by 5 it shows a higher number. I guess this is because they are taking into consideration the residual value?
B. i guess the formulas are only on the lines in italic (i.e total standing cost - total running cost and total cost) and there is no formula attached to the MPG box?
Hope this all makes sense.

A. It would appear they are deprecating them by 33% per year
(at least that is what they have done for the lower mileage 6 legger) £99,600 down to £20,020
