I am driving a truck with a Veeder Root/Stonefield tacho with another driver tomorrow. I have looked but cannot find a way of putting the tacho card for the second driver into the unit. It is a CD type. We dont have a manual for it either or I would know the answer.
Calv if it is one where the front comes out , does it not have a section which raises so that you can place one disc below and one above, with the top disc being the first driver ,this is the norm i tried looking for the type of tacho you
posted but no info only for type 2400 have a look in goggle pictures and see if that can help you mate, the tacho if it is that old you may have to change the discs but i can not belive that with the type you have described is the case,
hopefully some one may have some better info and will post it for you,
Calv,
the Stoneridge 2400 series tacho is a little different from the other modular tacho; VDO Siemens 1324.
Firstly, make sure there are two round black buttons, one at either side of the tacho face plate, these are the mode switches. There are quite a few 2400’s out there with only one switch; mainly but not always fitted to Renaults. If there are two mode switches, all well and good.
Open the tacho
put the second man chart in first, about two thirds the way along the base plate you will see a slot cut into the plastic base, push the chart gently into this slot, recording side uppermost.
then position the hole in the centre of the chart over the pear shaped cam, on this tacho you can turn the cam to make this step easier.
Now put the drivers chart in, locating the far edge of it under the two white painted index marks you will see on the base plate.
Next locate the hole in the centre of the drivers chart over the cam and close the tacho draw.
The tacho will automatically align the charts so that they start recording in the correct location.
Don’t forget that Modular tachos will record ‘Availability’ (box with the diagonal line through it) for the second man whilst the vehicle is moving. And availability is not classified as a break.
