I can’t believe the amount of Vauxhall cars I see broken down on the hard shoulder week after week, even new ones
Anyone else notice it ?

Not got one now, but have had a few Vauxhalls over the years. To be honest never had anymore problems with them, than any other make.
Nope. Nearly every car I’ve owned has been a Vauxhall and I’ve never had a moments bother with any of them. I would never even consider buying another make if I’m honest.
its like the only ■■■■■■■■■ that cut you up are driving AUDIs you only notice cos your looking for it will be just as many other manufacturers cars broke down on the hard shoulder oh and lots of scanias
Seem to notice a lot of cars broken down of all makes that are driven by Asians for the size of their community they do appear to make up a disproportionate percentage of breakdowns
Yep that’s the reason. Have you ever looked at a new car today only to see millions of them on the road the following day? It’s because you start looking for them.

Touch wood, I’ve had some form of vauxhall for the last 12 years and I’ve never broken down once. Only regular problems I’ve had is with sensors, crank shaft etc. But without fail it has always got me home.
I think half eh these breakdowns you see are fuel related, the AA have such a big problem with it they now have a separate van division called fuel assist.
I have a Vectra at the mo. Had an engine light on, but that’s gone off. Battery not the best, but that’s not Vauxhall’s fault. All in all…Not bad so far.
Nope .
My nephew works as a spanner monkey at the local Vauxhall family run dealership so he gets all my Saturday after work business.
Its called maintenance. So that’s 2 Vauxhall’s a 406 and a Fiesta he looks after for me and the 406 will be scrapping soon so nope its Vauxhall for me
I’ve had my vectra for 10 years since new & it’s never missed a beat 97k on the clock now.
Its not the cars mate…its the monkeys that drive them and don’t maintain them properly…
ppl are trying to save money these days and don’t always get there car serviced on time and leave it to run over and by the time they do, its to late coz they broke down… then the cost of repair is twice as expensive
quite boring cars IMO. they excel at nothing but don’t really do anything wrong rather than being boring to drive. the VXR models are well known for having chocolate gearboxes and piston 4 detaching itself from the engine. Turbo’s are also pretty weak and prone to going.
The only car I’ve never seen broken down at the side of the road is a Mazda.
No way!!! I’ve had nothing but Vauxhalls since I started driving, found them to be excellent, 2 Corsas - both driven like rally cars and poorly maintained by me!!!, 1st gear into the red, 2nd gear into the red, slam on the brakes ect, Corsas were amazing in the snow and ice. Hardly spent a penny on either of them (apart for the usual tyres brakes). I got rid of the Corsas at 105,000 and 118,000 miles, felt as if the engines may have needed some attention to keep them going strong… Now I have a Astra, Full service history, immaculate condition inside and out, (ex-police car), Had 70-odd thousand on the clock when I got it, now around 98,000… No problems what so ever…
My Brothers on the other hand… one has a Clio other has a Fiesta, they seem to have had their fair share of problems with them
Nissan all the way brill
My Vauxhall takes me to work every day and tows an 1100kg touring caravan on our breaks away. Never misses a beat. Far more reliable than the Land Rovers I used to own.
Drive a little 05 Corsa diesel used mostly for commute to work .Round trip of 63miles and apart from a fuel pump and the usual servicing ,tyres etc it hasn`t let me down . Fuel pump was a bit of nad buster but apart from that lappy as harry .
Best ever produced car was the Omega… I had a 3.2 elite, regretted getting ever since, no other car has come near to it… Other than my Audi A6
I had three Cavalier 2.0i Vauxhalls, followed by a Vectra 2.0i which I did about 300,000 miles in total with the four of them. Excellent vehicles. I don’t run cars these days, but if I was going to buy another new car it would be a Vauxhall Insignia.
